What is this nonsense?! The new "Syndicate" game looks like rubbish. The original games were about infiltration, heavily armored dudes in trenchcoats, and raising an army of unwitting mind controlled slaves in order to assist you. Instead we get another fps. "wow" I'm sure it's just sooo "epic" I promise to be impressed when I trigger a scripted event every few minutes.

Pfft, this company has not done anything innovative in years. Their title line us is dry and convoluted. The only new fans they generate are those who are told they must like FF7 in order to be cool amongst their friends.

I agree. Though I do enjoy some aspects of multiplayer. I've been playing Multiplayer FPS games since the early 90's and it has lost its charm. Coming from a design standpoint, it really is difficult now to market your game acordingly. The designers want to express themselves and stay true to their art, but at the same time, you are making a product for the masses, and you have to feed the masses what they want.

I was initially rather disgusted by the idea of a game suggesting I play online instead of my current play choice. At this stage I see it more of an attempt to generate interest in a title that may not be of substantial interest to consumers.

We should move past all this money nonsense and just embrace the human spirit and work together exploring the galaxy.

But would actually be better is just pooling resources to work on shields and FTL travel and get ready to conquer some slime ball alien planet..

Seriously? People play RTS games on a home console?

I've tried it before it's not pretty.

Maybe that new voice activated EndWar game can pull of something new.

The Windows Character Map is awesome. So underistimated. You can impress all your IM buddies with your knowledge of random ASCII

Just received a friendly E-mail From Helio [as a current customer] announcing what was going down. It makes it sound much more like a partnership than a buyout. Of course the big question is:

Q: Does this affect my current contract with HELIO in any way? When Virgin Mobile USA does acquire HELIO, can I end my current contract without paying an early termination fee (ETF)?

A: HELIO contracts remain in effect and unchanged by this transaction. HELIO members who wish to end their contract early will still be subject to an early termination fee (ETF).

So it's a Sonic The Headgehog 2 bonus level, but with spaceships and ray guns at half speed.

I'll throw my hat into the ring too and say that for about 15 minutes last night I experienced the same thing.

Either no one joining, or not being able to connect.

There are still a handfull of us who enjoy single player campaigns..
