hehe ... now can we FINALLY kick the 'PSP is dead' stories once and for all?

Of course, we COULD say that 'the PSP was the lowest selling system in February!!!' But who really cares - bottom line, the PSP has proven itself a success, has loads of great games, and has shown that the DS and PSP can peacefully coexist and have individual audiences as well as a large shared audience.

As for game sales, I don't think you can dispute that the PSP is the most pirated handheld ever. Perhaps the most pirated system ever proportional to overall sales. But more and more games are coming along and are doing pretty well - and publishers seem to be dealing with that reality and not killing games. So that is a good thing.

I got mine at 8AM at Best Buy (no midnight launches in my area) and took some shots (what the heck possessed me? never did that before). Sent them to Andrew.

Now? My firmware is up to date, I am using Skype to phone home from my PSP since I started a new job out of state and my wife and kids are still at home for a few weeks, and when I got the PSP-2000 I just couldn't get rid of my beloved original ... so now I can more easily shuffle between two games!

I hope it works out well - I was really pulling for that one!

I am interested in the Single Player ... but of course I'll play some online as well.

I had contact with the publisher and they said that the date of last week was wrong, but he didn't have an update yet. I loved the original and am hopeful this one ends up well. As I get more info I'll let you know.

Wow ... I thought there were better choices. Well, D&D Tactics was better than Tales of the World. But Brave Story was the best of this lot .. by FAR!

Disgaea and Jeanne battle to the death ... it is close, but Jeanne remains standing.

FFT isn't even close, and I don't get the love for the (IMO) mediocre SOCOM Tactics.

Any claims of 'not enough good PSP games are just garbage at this point - there are plenty of good to excellent games in nearly every genre for the device.

As for the sales ... anyone comparing November to October for sales boosts is definitely spinning, regardless of the excellent sales.

My take - the PS3 is underperforming, and the PS2 isn't carrying it anymore ... PSP is doing well but still being outsold 3:1 by the DS. So Sony doesn't have anything authoritative to say ...

... but to me the spin sounds crappy. Why not just be proud of the amazing sales of the PSP? In 2.5 years it has sold more than theh GameCube or XBOX did in their whole life. It is an amazing device that deserves accolades.

And we, as handheld gamers are blessed ... blessed to argue between Disgaea PSP and Final Fantasy XII DS, between Call of Duty 4 DS and Medal of Honor 2 PSP. It is a great position - and the promise of future competition means we should get more and more great stuff!
