I am not saying that the best feature is the voice command. You have to admit though, it is kind of cool. Just think, you don't have to worry about getting batteries for a remote, or little people running off with the darn thing. I think it is an intriguing aspect, but it's not the main one.
Let me clarify what I said. The Eyetoy didn't have any use outside of the games (Granted, the PS2 didn't have many other things besides the games). I meant the dash menus. And Kinect isn't meant for voice command, but it recognizes your voice, and you can command movies/shows with voice command. The Eyetoy was very limited.
There is hype for Kinect because it is something new, and it is a very interesting piece of tech. Before you say the Eyetoy did this first, did the Eyetoy have voice command? Did the Eyetoy allow you to surf through menus with your hand? The Eyetoy just let you play the games that came out for it (I should know, my dad had one).
I don't know if straight up Kinect will be good, but it could be really cool if it is incorporated with games, such as moving your head to look around the screen. Plus, who said Kinect is even made for FPS games? Everyone says Kinect wont be good with FPS's, but thats not what it is made for. I think an RPG could be great with Kinect. If they find a way to walk around with Kinect that is. You could battle, reach into your backpack, choose items, interact with objects, etc. Wow, that actually sounds really fun, somebody make it happen.
@ALGIBRAIC Like Sports games, all that this game is adding is more things. Madden gives us roster updates, GT5 gives us more cars. Kind of reminds me of COD, more weapons different levels, same exact gameplay (excluding Move which may just be tacked on), and call it good.
