Profanity filters, homophobic slurs, and Blizzard's shaky relationship with the LGBT community

Jan 25th 2012 3:49PM (WoW)
Words (are!!!!) just simply words. And they only have the power that you give them. If you let them hurt you they become a weapon. If you ignore them and do not alow them to harm you they become nothing but a joke.

At some point in time people will have to stop thinking of them self as White or Black, Gay or Straigh,. And start calling our self what we are, PEOPLE! When this hapons nothing someone calls you can harm you. You can not ask people to stop labeling you untill you stop labeling your self.

You know I have thought about this for a long time. You see all this crap over changing gamer culture. But do people ever stop and think they should just stop letting things bother them? I grew up in the 80s and 90s the hay days of gamer culture and let me tell you the culture is tame now. We used every slang in the book to attack each other. And this was not a sing of hate but just a way of saying what up bro. You knew your real friends by the names they called you.

The fastest way to take the power out of a harmfull word is to not let it bother you. Sure we could all be less jerks online. But at the same time people should really grow thicker skin when it comes to something said to them online in a game or on a forum. You don't know the guy calling you this or that. he dose not know you. why would you give his dumb ass the power to make you upset?

I own a 1990 something ford ranger. I find my self in it about 8 hours a day any more. Mostly driving my mom back and forth.
