Oct 13th 2010 10:24PM (Joystiq)that is all. I wrote a reply for a good hour but then it didn't go through somehow :( so this sums up my argument pretty well.
unpleasable isn't a word by the way unappeasable maybe?
I am a fan that can be pleased. I love the Mario series and its constant innovations. I am also a fan of quality games. Sonic 4, in my opinion, is not a quality game. It is playable, maybe even a little fun, but its not the way a 20 year old franchise should be brought out to loyal fans.
Also, fans have their right to say if a game is good or not- they are the ones buying it. Criticism can only help the developer make a better game.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 review: Spin-dashed hopes
Oct 13th 2010 8:58PM (Joystiq)this effectively challenges your argument pretty nicely.
Also, if your accusing a video game journalist of being incapable of reviewing a 2D game because they somehow "forgot" to appreciate 2D games because of CoD and Halo, just wow. wowwww. thats embarrassing to even consider that a logical assumption.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 review: Spin-dashed hopes
Oct 13th 2010 8:52PM (Joystiq)My advice would be to make Sonic look like he did (short, chubby short spiked Sonic) and create an engine that makes the physics similar to Sonic 1-3. Throw in some modern day platforming novelties, and make the boss battles difficult and interesting, and you'll win your millions of fans back. It must be easier said than done, because Sega has been incapable of doing this. Right now, I'd say they are the laughing stock of the game industry, just because they have a great property that they are figuratively stabbing in the face repeatedly.
