Uncharted 3: The very first behind the scenes video

Dec 12th 2010 9:55PM (Joystiq)
I personally, didn't like the trailer that much. All we learned was that its going to be based around the desert. I mean I'm sure its going to be a great game, but to hype it they should have shown something exciting (anyone remember drake escaping the falling train in the trailer for UC2?). For the sequel for one of the best games of all time, I feel like it wasn't a very exciting set up for the announcement. Just my humble opinion.

I mean, in their defense, the announcement itself is exciting.

This doesn't look bad. For some reason it reminded me how much I want Luigi's Mansion 2...

The quality of this game depends on the amount Christopher Nolan is involved.

007: Blood Stone will infiltrate retail without a demo

Just because James Bond games have kind of sucked lately, I'm really skeptical about this one. A good demo might have gotten them my $60, especially if it gets mediocre review scores.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 review: Spin-dashed hopes

that is all. I wrote a reply for a good hour but then it didn't go through somehow :( so this sums up my argument pretty well.

unpleasable isn't a word by the way unappeasable maybe?

I am a fan that can be pleased. I love the Mario series and its constant innovations. I am also a fan of quality games. Sonic 4, in my opinion, is not a quality game. It is playable, maybe even a little fun, but its not the way a 20 year old franchise should be brought out to loyal fans.

Also, fans have their right to say if a game is good or not- they are the ones buying it. Criticism can only help the developer make a better game.

this effectively challenges your argument pretty nicely.

Also, if your accusing a video game journalist of being incapable of reviewing a 2D game because they somehow "forgot" to appreciate 2D games because of CoD and Halo, just wow. wowwww. thats embarrassing to even consider that a logical assumption.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 review: Spin-dashed hopes

sega needs to either hand this property to nintendo (or some other capable developer) or just kill it altogether because for 10 years they haven't been doing Sonic justice. I was plain disgusted when I played the demo.

My advice would be to make Sonic look like he did (short, chubby short spiked Sonic) and create an engine that makes the physics similar to Sonic 1-3. Throw in some modern day platforming novelties, and make the boss battles difficult and interesting, and you'll win your millions of fans back. It must be easier said than done, because Sega has been incapable of doing this. Right now, I'd say they are the laughing stock of the game industry, just because they have a great property that they are figuratively stabbing in the face repeatedly.
