European regulators could force Microsoft to unbundle Internet Explorer

Jan 19th 2009 2:33PM (Download Squad)
Should Apple be forced to unbundle Saffari as well?

This really is ridiculous. Does this mean Europeans will have to go to the store to buy their browser of choice on a disc?

Nobody is forced to keep using Internet Explorer, just like nobody if forced to keep using Safari. Pretty much every desktop OS comes bundled with a web browser.

Barack Obama - President 2.0?

I disagree with you. I think him blogging would help him connect with the people.

He doesn't need to blog every day, or every week even, but blogging can be of great benefit. It can help people get involved in politics, because right now, there is a great disconnection between government and the people, and it is because people are so busy with day to day work and life.

The Internet and computer technology have caused this, and now it will help fix it. Before, people could lobby for their causes, now it is mostly corporations who have big budgets to have lobbyists in Washington working full time. How is an individual person supposed to compete with that?! Imagine if the President had a blog, where everyone in the country could read and comment. People could actually lobby for changes they want and agree with. Opinions could be heard without people having to completely change their schedule. The government would be back in the hands of the people, just how it should be.

This blog wont completely fix it, but as part of the government framework, it could definitely make a difference.

It is time the people take back the government, and I think Obama knows exactly what he is doing.

Of course, he hasn't even been inaugurated yet, and this is all speculation on how he could use his blog.

Microsoft launches Windows Azure: Cloud operating system

What purpose would it serve to have a thin client and the operating system on the other side of the continent. Microsoft already has "Terminal Services" with Windows Server, so it's already done. It is only satisfying for employers and IT people.

Regular Joe-Sixpack or Joe the Plumber would probably rather have an OS on their local hard drive, and not in a data center.

Wii Warm Up: The others

Besides my Wii (playing Mario Kart daily) and DS, I have nothing else...

Though, I am considering a 360 just for the new Tales game.

The Engadget Review: Palm Treo Pro

I had a dream last night that I bought this phone, and I also bought a Centro Slider which doesn't exist, but it was sure nice! It was very fast and nice and easy to use. Woke up, and I still had my clunky ol' TyTN. :(

I can't beleive this thing has a 3.5mm HEADPHONE JACK! Awesome!

Every smartphone comes with shitty headphones. It really sucks, I wish they would put some effort into their headphone design and make them more confortable, especially since you can't use just any ol' pair of headphones due to the jack being too small or proprietary, instead we're stuck with buying an adapter on ebay to use better quality headphones; sometimes the adapter is 20 CM long and going for a jog turns into skipping over dangling wires.

Oh, they want us to purchase A2DP headphones...I get it.

iRobot is also a corporation that manufactures the Roomba, a robot vacuum cleaner.

Plus many other types of robots.
