Joyswag: Call of Booty: Modern Wardrobe
Nov 11th 2009 9:13PM (Joystiq)Oklahoma Senator Coffee hot for ESRB
Dec 6th 2007 2:44AM (Joystiq)Nevermind the fact I literally grew up with this very same Coffee family in Rocklahoma.
While I've since grown up & learned how to form my pwn opinions, as a parent I side with the issue of inattentiveness on the parent's end.
Let's face it...kids (who obviously aren't the demographic here) will connive their precious little ways in getting their snausage fingers on a Rated-M game; instead, we should focus on "service after the sale" & get i-n-v-o-l-v-e-d in their lives, be it through parenting group support, Big Bros Big Sistas, etc.
All I'm sayin is that based on this politician's *action*, people need to be responsible for the chillens or else hand out beatdowns that would make Rockstar proud.

DJ Max Portable 2 spotted at GDC
Mar 10th 2007 10:48AM (Joystiq)PS: to the comment re: guitar hero for PSP, great idea...I'm still waiting for an adapter to use a PS2 dual-shock controller via mini-USB. If it's battery life on the PSP they're worried about, disable the shock portion OR bundle in the higher mA battery with controller for ~$40-50.

Feb 21st 2007 1:32PM (Engadget)Aliph's Bluetooth Jawbone headset sports military-grade noise cancellation
Jan 27th 2007 3:18PM (Engadget)Having previously owned a Plantronics 2500 P.O.S. (after 6 mos. use battery life MAXED out at ~7 - 10 minutes, then died), then upgrading to the Discovery 640 (still having withdrawals), the Jawbone was a welcome addition (thanks for the b/day present, wifey!) to my typical day in IT support.
I use this headset paired with a Blackberry 8700, & from day one callers have said "I had no idea you were driving your loudass VW .:R32...thought you were at your desk". It works as advertised, in nearly every noisy situation.
CONS: that swiveling earpiece does pull the bud away from you ear, making it difficult to hear the other party compared to the depth other BT earbuds sit. Although it's not bad enough to return to Chingular, I hope Aliph makes ver 2.0 of their earhook/earbud combo. Otherwise I'll try to score some Jabra gels & make those fit.
Wii Warm Up: At last, your love has come along?
Jan 21st 2007 6:51PM (Joystiq Nintendo)Do not underestimate these places! Went by to pick up a movie on Saturday, Jan 20, & casually asked the Game Crazy guy if they *happened* to have any Wiis. He literally lowered his voice, said "shhhhh", & that yes, indeed they had ONE left unclaimed & unable to reach the pre-order recipient. I said to hold it while I drove home to trade-in my GameCube & GameBoy player for $55. Thanks to these forums warning us about GameStop's true ploy, I had my Wii in hand & home safely for $195 after trade.
Unfortunately no second controllers available anywhere in this area. Since this is the home-office of WalMart I checked with them for controllers, & here is a helpful tip for those of you still looking:
WalMart WILL have Wii's AND several controllers (actually they have them now but are holding) available January 29. If you ever want to know when something is available, be nice to one of their associates & ask if they can use their scanner gun to check all the local stores inventory.
Was it worth the wait? Absolutely. This is the FIRST time I've got my wife to play a game for more than 5 minutes. She is already killing me at Bowling & Golf!
