Vague Rant

Yeah, this is really one of those "I wish I cared about the DSi" games. Right now most DSiWare is average-to-poor, with only a few rare games that look interesting. Since I still play GBA games, the trade-off from tens of excellent GBA games to a few OK looking DSiWare just isn't worth it. Maybe the 3DS will have access to old DSiWare content and I'll get to play it then, but my getting a 3DS isn't a given either.

There's no reason whatsoever to buy anything gaming-related from Australia. I've heard the whining that prices will only go up further if everybody starts importing, but by that point /everyone will be importing so who cares what ridiculous amounts of cash they're expecting us to fork over/. It's not the consumer's responsibility to make buying things attractive, if the industry screws up hard enough that no-one is buying local any more then they shouldn't have gouged Australians for so hard and so long that they gave up and went elsewhere.

Not strictly true, a week or so ago Amazon sent out a provisional ship date of January 21. Realistic or not, it went through a few news outlets, and probably counts as a rumour.
