In ny if your vehicle is of a certain age (i think its something like 2 years after its new) you have to get a safety inspection at the time of your emissions inspection.

People are dying here left and right here on long island with the speed limit at 55. I hope it would only be on interstates. It would not work here. The lie has to much traffic to speed over 80mph and the norther and southern states are very twisty and treelined. People here are always smashing nose first into the trees at 80mph and getting killed. imagine smashing into a tree at 150mph?

I think people should not be counting the prius out yet. There are a TON of people that are just like me. I cannot get a plug in ANYTHING due to not having an outlet by my parking spot at work or home to plug a cart into so my only option is a hybrid. AS long as toyota focus's on getting the prius cheaper that will be the car that keeps them a float.

That and if the new toyota subaru car is better then people thought.

The rate of accidents would fall in some places (like here on long island) if people would just slow down. Long island is all twisty roads and roads with LA like traffic (one par tof the LIE has been voted the most congested road in america beating out LA)

Our roads were made with 40mph and people are always dying because they are smashing into trees at 80mph.

Then why buy an elantra why not a genisis or a sonata?

I know people HATE toyota here but I know I would base my purchase on mpg friendly cars on how cheap they are and mpg vs a prius. Right now they are not much cheaper then a hybrid prius . It has to either be a lot chepaer then a prius with the amount of space it has vs a prius or has to have the same or more mpg vs a prius for that price.

Why get a fiesta with say 40mpg when I can get a pris for a little bit more with the same mpg or higher (since i do a ton of stop and go driving ) and more interior space.

IN the town of huntington on long island in NY you cannot pump your own gas either.

Why is it when these claims happen to toyota everybody bashes them but when it happens to another company everybody tries to stick up for honda?

People can bash toyota all they want but i have a 2004 corolla that has 90k miles on it with no problems what so ever .Still runs the same as when it was brand new. While everybody elses cars hit all the pot holes, speed bumps and evertything else in my area and fall a apart my car is tull going strong.

Bash toyota all you want but if your looking for a car to get you from here to their with decent fuel economy thats reliable and can take abuse you can still rely on the corolla.

thats why you would get the regular outlander. this is meant to compete with the juke ,sx4 and other small awd cuvs
