I won't pass judgment on this particular DLC until it releases. If a lot of it is on the disc then yes I will be upset. The upgrades to the Horde mode do sound more like holding back content rather than enhancing it. The game went Gold on Aug 19 (one month) before release PLUS they had 6 months extra to polish the game because of the MS delay. 3 Characters and 3 Maps are the new content. In comparison to the whole game at $60 it would seem to me $10 is a lot for that.

OK...My point was not to say there is a direct comparison. I am saying that the reviewing community as a whole thought those games I listed warranted a higher score than Gies gave RAGE (A 6). Now it would appear that the community as a whole will be giving RAGE an 8-8.2. So in this respect his review is even further from what the games review community thought of this game. I follow most of these guys on twitter and they are always taking pride in their low score reviews, especially for AAA titles. They are either not liked by most of the publishers or wanted to be game developers themselves and could not hack it. Arthur and Ben Kuchera (Arstechnia) were blowing each other yesterday on Twitter before their reviews released because they knew they were going to bash the game. If you do not think some of these guys don't have an agenda, just like publishers do then I cannot help that.

When CliffyB said that all the DLC was done AFTER the game was done I knew he was full of it. The problem is many people don't care. When someone is willing to give me $25 a piece for my 2 preorder DLC skins I know $10 for this won't phase them. Gears of War 3 is a great value in comparison to a lot of crap out there but I am tired of the nickel and dimming, Especially when it makes it that much more difficult in matchmaking for versus.

Sorry but you look for a game's review it says Joystiq not Arthur Gies. Aggregate scores are a good measuring stick for a game. It is the composite of what ALL the opinions are for a game. When a reviewer/outlet seems to revel in giving low scores I call into question that person's motives. Arthur had a rep at IGN also for this...maybe that is why he is no longer there.

Dummy? The point of posting aggregate scores is to show that some reviewers and/or websites like the attention of giving lower scores. I pointed that out in the first sentence "dummy".

It is like there is a sub-set of jaded reviewers now who now find it "cool" to have the lowest score. I am buying no matter what. I am sorry but the technical accomplishment of this game makes this a 7 even if it was nothing but running around picking up dog crap with a pooper scooper at 60 FPS. The # of games with scores between 6-8 that are supposed to be "better" than RAGE (according to Giles) is astounding.

There are only about 45 Xbox 360 who have an aggregate score below 60. Do you REALLY believe THIS game is one of the bottom 10% of games made for the 360? No way in Hell.

I got a code and right now I am not really impressed. Its could be fun but it seems really unbalanced. It will definitely require you to work as a team. The visuals were awesome though.

I have such a long backlog right now but I just could not resist this price. I mean you still have to pay like 13-15 bucks for a USED copy of Saints Row 2 right now. That game came out 2 years ago. I just don't see the price dropping any farther than this in the next 6 months.

People need to read the promotion. It clearly states that the free points will be deposited 4-6 WEEKS AFTER the promotion ends on Jan 5th. So we will have to wait to see if the deal works or not.
