Wii emulator boosts visuals to 720p HD

Mar 30th 2009 5:08PM (Joystiq)
It really give you hope that a WiiHD will have the ability to upscale Gamecube and Wii games. I still see this as the almost final generation of home console hardware - at least for dealing with HDTVs as they are.

Fake Wii "news" allegedly pulled from trash bin [update 1]

#22 - Corporate sites tend to use locked trash bins that are taken out for bulk shredding or burning. It's like that where I work.

Nintendo DS and the GBA successor

Jan 4th 2006 8:58PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I don't believe that the GBA will have an exact successor.

My prediction:

The official announcement will happen at E3 in 2008 or 2009 with release for the holidays. Instead of an announcement for just a new gameboy or a new DS, I expect them to announce replacements for both at the same time. The new GBX will have a bigger screen (think something 16x9, almost to rival the PSP) and the new DS+ will have the same screen as it's top screen. The new DS+ will have the same bottom screen as the current. They'll both have the same CPU at the same speed, and they'll share a cartridge format. Games will come in two flavors, DS+ only (think nintendogs or kirby's canvas curse) and GBX (think Mario Kart DS or Dawn of Sorrow but you loose the map screen on the GBX). I think both will include many features and enhancements. Tilt control, rumble, analog sticks, and microphone will be standard across both units. The DS+ will have the second bottom screen with the touch control.
