Thanks fellas, we worked really hard at making DS the project we all dreamed it could be, and we are so proud that all of you (the gamers) enjoyed the experience we brought you. I cant speak to the development of DS2 except to say that it will be exciting to see what a new team can bring to the franchise. I can however say that we at SHG will give our heart and souls to bring the best gaming experience possible back to all of you, and you wont be disappointed. :) Keep your eyes peeled for us in the future.
Actually Glens and Mikes and all of the teams departure had nothing to do with money at all. It had to do with Quality and commitment to innovation. Activision has given us all the control to make a product both worthy of the DS team, and the gamers dollar. We (the ex-DS creative team) didnt want to stay and push out another version of DS to all of you just to make a quick buck. We want to do something new and exciting and fun...much the same way we did on Dead Space 1..... and Activision is giving us all the freedom to do so. :)
Well not all of Viceral...just most of the creative leads from the dead space team. in addition to glen schofield and mike Condrey leaving, so did a lot of ds1's creative leads. Myself the (Chris Stone) Director of animation, Conant Fong the cinematic director, the entire core animation team, Brett Robbins the creative director, Joe Salud the environment art director, Eric Pavey the technical director, Scott Whitney the Video director, Dave Blizard Lighting lead as well as many of Vicerals top engineers all have left to start Sledgehammer Games for Activision. So no...not everyone...but a powerhouse none the less.
