Examining the tragic life of a Skyrim Hoarder

Mar 29th 2012 12:53PM (Joystiq)
In Fallout, I have the Blackwolf Backpack mod, to let me carry way more (and look somewhat cooler doing so)

In Elder Scrolls, I have saddlebags for the same effect.

In both games: heavy abuse of alcohol for "transportational" purposes. The biggest reason anyone ever became a drunk in an Open World rpg with an extensive inventory system was because they were absolutely sure they could either make good use or a good sale of their 'findings' somewhere down the line.

I'd feel sorry for the main protagonist, but come on! It's a virus that spreads and destroys people and specifically Warehouses! Yeah, the wife and kids should totally stay home as long as possible until a not predetermined leave of duty!

Five straight minutes of Ryu Hayabusa messing dudes up in Ninja Gaiden 3, right here

OH god, please no, TEAM NINJA! Don't give us a mission control barking in our ears for the entire game! It's bad enough the plot manages to be troubled by it's contradictory premise vs gameplay "Be an awesome master killer! Also, killing lots of people is bad, as the villains (who just sent hundreds to their deaths to kill you/take over the world) point out on their flying hoverchair high ground"

I'm just worried that Ryu won't be able to use his ninja powers until the CO tells him to, or that once he's forced to fight the exploding kunai throwing ninjas again, he'll suffter PTSD and lose his ninja outfit until a tough guy comes to rescue him.

The "being consumed/turned evil" thing was done better in the first one with the whole "turning into a fiend" thing, because a point could be made that Ryu was no different from a fiend in the first place. And the whole "evil alchemists getting an edge over Ryu when overfiends failed to do just that" seems silly after you compare Ryu's previous accomplishments.

All in all, I'm just seeing a lot of unnecessary talking when all I want to see is some necessary ninja ass kicking.

Especially if it's just enemies talking trash! Imagine if every Ninja in NG2 said "You're going down!" and ""We need backup!" on just the Airship level. That's more annoying enemy chatter than most FPS games!

Final Fantasy XI only $11 at GameStop until May 3

I think the key issue here is that by buying the full game, you still can't play it without paying $30 a month, unless they pull a wicked awesome and have a couple of months of free play before the old is overtaken by the new.

My favorite memory is the time my aunt took me to target while my mom was sick, and while we were there she was talking to me about various things, like my favorite stuff. When we went by the bike section, she asked me about if I had a bike, which I said no. She asked me if I wanted one, and my first reaction was whether or not my mom would know, because I thought couldn't have such things unless it was okay with my mom. Even then, I said I'd feel bad getting such a gift just on the fly like that, but she ended up buying me the bike anyway, and I rode that no frills green bike for the better part of my childhood, and lament it's destruction at the hands of my sibling and his jackass friends, and pray for one that reminds me of the old one.

I recall her saying, that the reason why she bought it for me was that I never ask for anything, being the most diminutive and quiet of my siblings, and while she praised me for being so easy on my mother, she didn't want me to miss out on nicer things just because I was too nice.

I know, it's not funny, and I was a bit too unbelievably goody two shoes as a kid, but that's the memory's that's with me right now.
