'Tangled' Will Be Final Disney Fairytale -- Is That a Good Thing?

Enchanted was a good "fresh take" on the genre, and they are doing a sequel, so there's that to look forward to.

'Grindhouse' DVD/Blu-Ray Details Emerge

I'm glad they're the theatrical cuts! It doesn't make my standalone Death Proof DVD obsolete. Plus I don't know if I could sit through that much grindhouse.

Director's Cut of 'Metropolis' to Screen in England and Ireland!

I'd be excited if all those places didn't charge an astronomical amount. What's wrong with the BFI! They're saviours of cinema AND they're reasonably priced.

Is Mumblecore a Dirty Word?

Dec 16th 2009 11:25AM (Cinematical)
I actually do find truth in the "mumblecore" aesthetic. I have, and in some social groups continue to, communicate in a very meek, mumbly and unassertive fashion, therefore the movement (however small) does resonate with me.

Also you assume that those films have no script and are improvised but that's just not true. Everyone thought Cassavetes improvised his scenes also but he had concrete scripts, motivations, themes. I think you're just referring to the loose way in which they play out which doesn't bother me at all. When things play out in reality they aren't tightly cut together either.

For all it's worth, I admired those batches of films and will defend the use of the word mumblecore, even though I'm pretty sure there was only a handful ever made before the directors moved onto something else.

Yeah getting beta keys to this has been frustrating for me also. They keep on linking to places where you can get them on the site but alot of the links are broken or uninformative. They really should link to the specific page that lists how to get them.

I finally found that Gamespot.com put up a page about getting one though. Hope this helps:
