Lame & pathetic hey, you really know A good game then. Crystal Dynamics made this game, & crystal dynamics have brought out classics like gex, legacy of kain & others. This game is yards above any tomb raider game... I say this as a massive fan of the 1st PS1 game. This game controls beautiful, looks real nice for PS2's older hardware & is loads of fun to play.... If nintendo doesn't get this game & others like it, they will never have me as a paying customer again. It is easy for all the fanbitches to say that ninty will have the biggest market share, as everyone will buy it as a 2nd console....What a crap theory that is, simple fact is that a minority of gamers will buy this console without decent 3rd party support. Basically early adoptors will be mostly blinker wearing fanbitches & then some true gamers. This will not garner mass appeal. PS3 will dominate again because they simply know how to target the mainstream gamer, casual gamer, even non gamers (singstar, buzz) + they cater to hardcore gamers as well.
Nintendo need to lose the "Nintendo only way", or they may lose a lot more in the long run.
On a brighter note, I sincerely hope that GC owners get this game as it really is a class act. Even if you were not a fan of the original, this game is worth taking a look at. Just a shame that it released so late in this gens lifecycle as it's not that pretty when you also own a 360 to compare it to.

Even mainstreamers will pay $100 or so more for this kind of look compared to tricked up GC graphics with a lightsabre gimmick controller. This game proves that 720p & 1080i are the only way to move forward with console gaming. Initial presentation is what will sell gamers at first. If kids see a graphical powerhouse running instore, next to mario 10 with beefed up GC graphics, then the GC will not be a choice in the grand scheme of things. It took six years & a plethorea of killer app games to build up those numbers.
Anyway, I went to EB's today & they said even in australia we would get the consoles in november.......sweet. If this is true & it ships with a 60gig HD, well thats awesome. I was also told a unconfirmed australian price of $800. I will pay for it at that price, but anymore than that will have me thinking unless their is an obvious sharp incline in ingame visuals over the 360.

Sparty, I am a pensioner gamer (31), I've had the systems you mentioned & more, hell I've still got a MB Vectrex (had it's own monitor built in that required screens ovelays to get color). Let me say that $100 is nothing considering I am getting a out of the box Blu Ray Player, Game Console, & possibly a 60gig Hard Drive.
If 360 offered all this, are you telling me your a hardcore gamers, but not hardcore enough to justify $100 (2 games), to get something you thought took even more advantage of the technology you have, or one day may have in your loungeroom.
Now just to clear all that up as well. If you beleive some of the crap on this site, there was a yen price floating around (can't remember which blogg) that convereted to $428.30 or some ridiculous un-rounded number like that. So if this number is to be believed & sony's past as well, then I would assume $399 as the US launch price. Now maybe 360 will have gone down to $320-$350 by then.... But it doesn't really help. Like nintendo displayed with cube, the price does not effect initial console buyers.

I do not & will not play games on pc. I've said it all along, people who prefer xbox consoles are hybrid pc/console gamers. Thats fair enough & not meant as an insult. It's simply true, thats why a lot of MS console titles are pc handemedowns or in the same genres as most pc games. As a staunch console gamer I prefer things made to suit consoles (fight night for example). Many of sony's own inhouse games are made with this in mind & they have some rare gems that capture the same essence, spirit & love of gaming that some of nintendo's do. For example some of my favourite games this gen were, shadow of the collossus, Ico, ghosthunter, Primal, Mark of Kri, god of war, these games were mostly something special & that I hadn,t seen before.
If MS could get some developers to come up with (out of the box) games like this, then it would only better their chances of domination. I already love the new controller & fight night, but what is beyond that for me.... I can only take so many FPS's, racers, Fihgters, & so on. Don't get me wrong as I love the best of these genres Tekken, burnout, timesplitters etc, but every so often they need a little something special to allow people who want that niche, gameplay splattered title to take the monotiny away.
I am looking forward to a few on PS3 actually. These are the ones that have been shown in game Metal Gear (obviously) I-8 (Resistance) Unreal Tourn 2007 (US PSM have played it on dev kits)

My other points quite simply can't be argued as it is blatently obvious that even fight night (best graphics in any game to date, for mine) is still not like watching a movie, let alone a hd movie. That perception does not allow me to think that we would go from PS1 graphics straight to toy story graphics. After reading that sony has outlawed any games not on blu ray, then I can see MS getting more games if sony charge too much for royalties. Could scare off all the best 3rd parties, like the snes to N64 debacle. On the other hand it may stamp out piracy to a large degree & developers may like that not cutting into profit margins. This is how it works every time. 100million people did not buy PS2's on launch day for $299-$399 or whatever the US price was. It took six years & a plethorea of killer app games to build up those numbers.
Anyway, I went to EB's today & they said even in australia we would get the consoles in november.......sweet. If this is true & it ships with a 60gig HD, well thats awesome. I was also told a unconfirmed australian price of $800. I will pay for it at that price, but anymore than that will have me thinking unless their is an obvious sharp incline in ingame visuals over the 360.

Now just to clear all that up as well. If you beleive some of the crap on this site, there was a yen price floating around (can't remember which blogg) that convereted to $428.30 or some ridiculous un-rounded number like that. So if this number is to be believed & sony's past as well, then I would assume $399 as the US launch price. Now maybe 360 will have gone down to $320-$350 by then.... But it doesn't really help. Like nintendo displayed with cube, the price does not effect initial console buyers.
It won't be this casual fanbase of sony's that fork out the big dollars for the PS3 when launched. It will be the exact same type of gamers that 360 is attacting right now......people who just love games.

I'm not a techno geek, I don't & don't want to understand what drives it. I just want to know what games I will be driving on it. I'm a gamer, I play games, I'm not a psuedo try hard ken kutaragi/j'allard that claims to know the in's & outs of every electronic product available. I just want to game. If I could I would simply eat, shit, sleep (sometimes & GAME. Unfortunately I have to work to support my habit.

I heard the lighting at that stage was noticably better on 360 & the character details were better on the PS3. Apart from that pretty equal. That was from people who saw both at the show.

I do not & will not play games on pc. I've said it all along, people who prefer xbox consoles are hybrid pc/console gamers. Thats fair enough & not meant as an insult. It's simply true, thats why a lot of MS console titles are pc handemedowns or in the same genres as most pc games. As a staunch console gamer I prefer things made to suit consoles (fight night for example). Many of sony's own inhouse games are made with this in mind & they have some rare gems that capture the same essence, spirit & love of gaming that some of nintendo's do. For example some of my favourite games this gen were, shadow of the collossus, Ico, ghosthunter, Primal, Mark of Kri, god of war, these games were mostly something special & that I hadn,t seen before.
If MS could get some developers to come up with (out of the box) games like this, then it would only better their chances of domination. I already love the new controller & fight night, but what is beyond that for me.... I can only take so many FPS's, racers, Fihgters, & so on. Don't get me wrong as I love the best of these genres Tekken, burnout, timesplitters etc, but every so often they need a little something special to allow people who want that niche, gameplay splattered title to take the monotiny away.
I am looking forward to a few on PS3 actually. These are the ones that have been shown in game

Unreal Tourn 2007 (US PSM have played it on dev kits)
Then you have others that from developer reputation I know will be shit hot.

My other points quite simply can't be argued as it is blatently obvious that even fight night (best graphics in any game to date, for mine) is still not like watching a movie, let alone a hd movie. So this statement is just as un-validated & untrue as sony's PS2 toy story graphics. This is my point all along, if you've played games as long as I have, you have apretty good perception of reality. That perception does not allow me to think that we would go from PS1 graphics straight to toy story graphics. Even if a machine had the power to do that, developers have not the skills to implement them in a decently playable game yet.
You also seemed to think I was singling you out for all the negativity filled posts that I was mentioning is PS3 bloggs. Not the case buddy. Just a build up of you's, & you were silly enough to bite when I decided to see what happens when somebody does the same in a 360 blogg. (You won't see me enter them much, cause I'm simply not that interested, I'm basically buying a 360 to tired me over until PS3 arrives, you may call that fanboyism, but remember I am supporting your favourite console & my 2nd).
Also, if you don't want to be labelled a fanbitch like you have been of late, pick on the ps3 for something you know as fact to be crap about it. Not for some stupid 4th dimension statement. If you think your smart & don't like my little 2nd grade insults & swear words, then stop sony bashing with a kindergarden mentality approach. If you want me to put forth an intellecually stimulating, thought provoking arguement, then give me something intelligent to work with in the 1st placing, instead of unfounded PS3 bashing stemming from hate for everything Sony.
Notice how my post in here was not actually MS bashing, but more raising aweness to the fanbitches that sony are not the worst offenders of hype, they are actually on an even keel with MS...they may use more outlandish, unheard of, non-sensical terminology, but in the end sony's marketing is no more BS than MS.
I never actually bashed MS in anyway, I merely stated facts from their own marketing brochure & problems that 360 owners are complaining about. You may have a 360, it may have no problems, for that I really am glad... But you MS people point the finger at PS2 as if every second console was faulty, when the xbox 1 was about the same (thomson drive anyone) considering the lesser all round sales numbers. (100 million as opposed to 22million). 360 is no less prone to a certain percenatge of failure rates, but I'm sure that is a minority & has already been addressed. I am looking forward to getting mine.
Just understand sparty, that if you have a negative to say about another product (less favoured or not), only bring up valid, factual points as there is too much crap floating around (such as rumours like the PS3 games can only be played on one console), & like I tend to do, try to mention something good about the machine,it seems less biased that way & shows you can appreciate other things instead of being 1 dimensial.
I'll never try to preach to everyone that MS & Nintendo suck & nobody should believe their hype or crap. I will simply give reasons as to why & what I prefer without showing malice to any of these companies. Fact is, I wasn't even gonna get a 360, as I've never really liked any of MS's controllers, but then I got my grubby mits on the 360 controller....... 1st part of the sale done...I put a deposit on one under the previso that I'd switch it onto PS3 if I could find no other reason to buy one.... Then I played fight night & that was basically all she wrote (it does look very nice), triple this up with PS3 november 8 mth wait & my money was in Bill's bank account (that bastard, he's already got enough of mine & everyone's else's with windows).
I've also never mentioned how infinately more powerful a piece of hardware is to another.....as I truly see games as the main factor. Sony's PS3 could be 10times as powerful as 360 (yes I know, but stick with me), but it won't mean a hoot if they don't have solid games that back it up & expoit that power, this is why xbox did not do as well as it could against PS2's older technology. After reading that sony has outlawed any games not on blu ray, then I can see MS getting more games if sony charge too much for royalties. Could scare off all the best 3rd parties, like the snes to N64 debacle. On the other hand it may stamp out piracy to a large degree & developers may like that not cutting into profit margins. At this point, it's hard to say... So lets not hammer it, ken & his 4d, until we have the console to judge on store shelves. If it's a crap console, I swear I won't treat it like an OJ simpson jurer at his trial.
