There's no way I'd ever give up console gaming for pads and phones... hell even portable game consoles and unless all worthwhile games also make there ways to the PC, well, it just isn't going to happen. Also while "social" games are big, there's no freakin way I'd give up a deep MMO experience that offers me tons of content and ways to play the game for a crappy facebook game that requires thousands of dollars to progress in a day.
While I'm sure these talents will change drastically, one of my biggest complaints I've had with WoW is the 2 class/specs I chose to play, Balance Druid and Enh Shaman, feel greatly underpowered in the grand scheme of things in terms of PVP survivability do to very little/practically useless CC/anti CC compared to other class/specs of similar styles. Don't get me wrong both do have a number of useful things but nowhere near the game changing moves of other class/specs.
It seems to me that both classes will have some extremely powerful new talents to use for those occasions, stuff that both greatly need, and because the talents are going to be whoever wants it grabs it, it will give some interesting mix ups which will be especially useful for both of those hybrid class/spec combo's. I'm sure a lot will change before release but I'm HIGHLY looking forward to this as a Boomkin and Enh Shammy player.
o look, another work around for multiplayer games coming from nintendo.... huzzah
Also I'd just like to point out, other games have been using this type of concept already. Why not just bite the bullet and make a GOOD online game? Is it really that hard? I mean Notch made one by himself.
