I am so tired of that looking up your nose argument. Stop justifying Apple for them being cheap and trying to rip off the customer.
When you are on a video chat with somebody do you usually look at the screen or do you stare straight ahead, if you answered "look at the screen" congratulations you are a normal person and since you are looking at the screen you are looking below where the camera is placed and you aren't going to have any problems. (If you answered "stare straight ahead, then you probably shouldn't be let near a camera, let alone interact with other humans.)
So in conclusion, stop making excuses for a large multinational company, think for a second about what you want and not what they want to force down your throat. If we had fewer people being yes men for Apple, then they might not intentionally cripple all of their hardware right out of the gate.
And usually when something, like a camera, is turned off it means that it is off (as in not using any energy or so little that you would never see a difference in battery life). Stop being an apple apologist and tell them what you want for your money.
I didn't think I needed an iPad, but I went down to the apple store and tried it. I then thought of all the great things that I could use it for.
After bring it home and unwrapping it and trying to get some things done on it, I regret my purchase. Being used to my pre and its multitasking capabilities I kept trying to swipe up to get to the other open applications. I wanted to flip back and forth from pages to the internet and then over to an IM app and I couldn't do it. It was laborious at best, and at times more than frustrating. Games were great but the restrictions were too much. I couldn't even get pdfs into an epub format with any success and I tried 5 different programs. Then to top it all off iTunes kept crashing on me when trying to import the badly formatted epub files. (I miss flash T.T)
The big iPod would be a good fit for some. But, I'm now looking forward to the HP slate and I will be visiting the Apple store next week to make a return.
That's not korean, It has korean letters in it, and korean words, but it doesn't makes about as much sense as a horse trying to speak English (Mr. Ed excluded).
Maybe the 3 finger spread/3 finger pinch thing is like picking something up and putting it back down...hummmmm, thats kinda like what you do when you copy paste. Amazing!?!?!
The only reason the micro payment system works in Korea is because they are a bit zealous about their apperance. They pay money so they can change an avatar on their cyworld page (like myspace). In the land of girls that won't leave the house unless dressed up, hair done, and face caked with make-up to go to the 7-11 down the street and where 80% of women have plastic surgery done before they're 30 a micro-payment system for apperance changes works.
In the states, not so much, it's just not that big of a deal to people and it will at least take money from the company if they want to continue to support it or it will just go under in a few months from lack of revenue.
It's a nice that their going to do this for free but they made a mistake if they think its going to work like Korea.
I eat at lotteria, although this burger may have fooled you into a sence of food normality, it doesnt taste good at all. All the food at McDonalds is a step up from that processed nightmare.
I live in korea. The gaming isnt all that great here. Counter strike is just starting to get reconized here. They were years behind on starcraft and warcraft 3. They have some innovative games coming up but most of their games are straight rip-offs of american games. Nobody really plays guild wars here and the most popular game from children to adults is a came called Cart Rider which is taken from Mario Kart, rainbow cubes and all.
Lan parties are easy to have. You just hit up the local pc room and play the game you want. Unless it a game that they dont have and you can't download then you are screwed. And it doesnt have the same feeling as having your pc with you. There isn't any excitement its just something to do to pass the time. Playing at pc rooms with friends is about as exciting as playing online at my house.
Korea comes off as a great place to play games. In practice its stuck 5 years in the past compaired to the west. The games that you can play are few and far between and if you want to play battlefield 2, Age of Empires 3 or any new game that is out come here in 3-5 years and it'll be the new hot thing. (That is until a korean company rips it off and gives it to them for free, but hey what can you do???)
