Sonic Generations will include the original Sonic The Hedgehog (if you can unlock it)

Oct 25th 2011 10:30PM (Joystiq)
@moroboshi Not you again...
Guess what, if one of you platforms is the original Genesis, you don't have real 60fps, but only 60 half-frames per second, because the TV signal is interlaced *gasp*
And if you happen to have a European Mega Drive, you only get 50 half-frames per second! How could people have ever enjoyed the games with such a sucky framerate...

Sonic CD trailer shows a game from another Sonic generation

@Perfidious Sinn
Sonic 4 is only a "sequel" to Sonic CD in the sense that the next episode will feature Metal Sonic and maybe other references to Sonic CD.

You want Super Peel Out? Get Sonic Generations, it appears to be an unlockable there.

@frr171 You've been lied to. Sonic CD is not a bad game. I'd say it's better than the original, Sonic 1. But it's in no way as polished and fun as Sonic 2, 3 & Knuckles.

@Jpirme777 The graphics are fine, it's the level layouts that are a jumbled mess!

@Bohtaro Yep, Sonic Gems Collection has a port of a port of Sonic CD (it's based on the PC version). But it's neither widescreen nor HD. Nor does it have the option to use the Sonic 2 spindash like this new Sonic CD will. Heck, the Gems Sonic CD doesn't even show underwater sections in the right color!

New(ish) Sonic Generations demo coming to PS3, 360 starting this week

@moroboshi 60fps is for babies. If it's not at least 240fps, THEN I wouldn't touch it with your pole.

(Yeah, that was sarcasm. If you're a sucker for framerate, stay away from the consoles and give the PC version a try.)

Sonic Generations speeding to PC

Oct 12th 2011 2:44PM (Joystiq)
@TRONdll You've got your FACTs a bit wrong there, then.
It's true that there's been increasing EVIDENCE that a PC version would be released starting back in May, when a Sega Sammy Holdings earnings report listed "PC" as one of the platforms for Sonic Generations. Later, a sighting in the Steam Registry appeared, some shops started listing the PC version for preorder, etc.
But all of that could have amounted to nothing in the end. As I said, Sonic 2006 was once believed to appear for PC, too. And for Sonic Riders Zero Gravity there's even an entry in Microsoft's Windows 7 compatibility center, although the game was NOT released on PC in the end (google for it).

The point I made still stands: finding the game listed in some databases etc. is good evidence, but that's neither an official announcement nor a confirmation. That's what a press release is for, which Sega released merely a few days ago.

@TRONdll Err, nope. Pics or it didn't happen.
Just watched it and saw no trace of PC there.

Anyway, one ad of Sonic 2006 mentioned a PC version too and that did never happen (thankfully). Mistakes happen, a true confirmation is an official press release or holding the product in your hands.

Sonic Generations trailer introduces the Dreamcast generation

@moroboshi Nonsense. 30fps are perfectly fine (as long as they are stable).
If framerate is so important to you, then ditch the outdated hardware that is the PS3/Xbox360 and get Sonic Generations for PC.
The PC version hasn't been officially announced yet, but there've been several signs that it exists (it can be preordered on French and German amazon, for example).
