First perma-death of a player character, huh? Tellah would like a word with you. As would the twins from the same game. And I do believe there was a death or two in FF3/6 also, but I don't remember the character's name since I renamed all of them back then.

Porting PC games to Xbox is surprisingly easy. Even if they haven't started on it AT ALL, they could still port it in time for a simultaneous cross-platform release for whatever their current projected window is. Now, if they're planning on putting it on PS3 as well...

The controls could probably translate over to a gamepad more elegantly than you might think. I'd imagine you would use the left stick for movement, the triggers as your left-click/right-click skills, and then from there on out the rest could be pretty customizable. D-pad for target selection maybe? Right stick to bring up a rotary skill-selector? The face buttons would probably be mappable to different potions, scrolls, usable items, or even additional skills perhaps. We're talking about a game that can be played with literally nothing but a mouse, so I think they have a lot of options in that regard.

Although, I'm in agreement with the "it just wouldn't feel right without a mouse" opinion.

FFXIV would like a word with you. If there's one thing SE did right with that, it's the graphics. And yes, that probably is the ONLY thing they really did right.

What a remarkably informative and concise post. You, sir, win an Internet. Unless, of course, SOPA passes. Then you win... I duno, free porn? Or are they taking that away, too? =P

Kinect for Windows leers at February 1 launch date

Also, sorry for the double-post, but I'd really love to see some method of hooking a single Kinect up to both an Xbox AND a PC. I have one monitor that I use for all my hardcore gaming, and it would be awesome if I didn't have to constantly switch the Kinect between the two. Not that I expect to use Kinect for any hardcore gaming on EITHER platform, but hey, a guy can dream, right?

Kinect for Windows leers at February 1 launch date

So, since this will be hooked up to my PC, I can't imagine they'll make me say "Xbox, blah blah blah" when I want to issue a voice command. What will they use instead, "Kinect"? I really hope not, it's too common a word. The software should allow you to set your own signaling word so I can set it to my computer's name.

"Melchior, launch Zune. Playlist four."

Gettin' me all hot n' bothered... ^_^b
