With Hideo as director, my favorite game has got to be Policenauts - I saved up for months to buy my first Playstation in the 6th grade just so I could play that game! That was a lot of lawns I had to mow!
While I'll be the first to admit that unified GPU architecture (or, as you like to put it, UNIFIED), is superior to dedicated purpose GPU architecture in general, your statement overlooks many of the technical specifications that Sony's console uses to negotiate that perceived deficiency- disappointing omissions given your self inferred prowess with graphical hardware.
Specifically (though not exclusively), you've completely disregarded the 265mb of next generation XDR memory, clocked at 3.2 ghz, that the PS3 uses to interface the Reality Synthesizer to the Cell directly. This interface has incredibly high bandwidth, and when combined with the Cell's ability to calculate sophisticated vertex calculations independently from the GPU, it greatly reduces the need for any GPU based vertex throughput, freeing the Nvidia unit to route calculation resources to where they are more needed dynamically and on the fly. Additionally, the increased storage capacity of the Blu- ray medium allows for the storage of uncompressed high resolution textures- thus reducing (and in most cases eliminating) GPU involvement- whereas the same textures when handled on the 360 must first run through a decompression process in the ATI chip before being output to display.
There are many similar technical balances that are present in both systems' GPUs, and when utilized properly, the disadvantages of a dedicated purpose architecture are not nearly as clear (and in the hands of a capable developer, such as Naughty Dog, the dedicated pipeline/ CPU interface/ Blu- ray paradigm actually yields superior results to those offered by the 360's system set up). Unfortunately, achieving such results is no simple process, and often times requires much more time and money to change code to start pulling from different hardware resources. As such, when developing muti plat games, most developers opt to not go that route, and in doing so under utilize or neglect completely the added benefits that the Cell processor and Blu-ray disc provide. Yes, the GPU of the 360 is more sophisticated, but it also has a lot more to do, so one is not intrinsically superior to the other.
Before you start "quoting facts" again, I'd recommend you know what they mean and how to use them, otherwise you just end up sounding like the troll you declared that you weren't.
There seems to be something of a PSP renaissance lately. A lot more quality game releases last year (and this year) than usual- and not just from Sony. Plus, a quick scope of software business sites show that while sales of the hardware are down, software is actually moving - despite the rampant piracy! Even my local Target has an entire fixture full of PSP stuff, and I haven't seen that since it launched!
Good time to be a PSP owner. It'll be an even better time once that sexy Kingdom Hearts game hot our shores!
It never ceases to amaze me how Microsoft always finds new ways to nickel and dime (and in this case, quarter) their users. It has practically been their official motto since their inception, but it's never been more transparent than it is with the 360.
Actually, the gap between the worldwide total of PS3s and 360s has been significantly narrowed since the launch of the Slim and the holiday sales crush. Current figures place is somewhere between 5 and 7 million.
Also, it should be noted that that ENTIRE differential is in the Americas, most notably here in the U.S, meaning of course that in almost every other region of the world, there are more PS3s than 360s. And if these last few years have taught us nothing else, they've demonstrated that the US =/= the world.

Don't bank of the status quo just yet.
