Guitar Hero World Tour standalone drums, guitar available now

Feb 17th 2009 1:05AM (Joystiq)
They need to start selling bass pedals separately. I've broken my RB pedal and base and I've completely smashed the sensor on my GH:WT pedal.

I assume they'll start selling extra pedals when GH: Metallica comes out. I just hope they're reasonably priced (

I count 13 songs on both lists. And only 3 songs from GHWT are available on Rock Band via DLC. (And oddly, one song from the Rock Band 2 setlist is already available for Rock Band: Jimmy Eat World - The Middle.)

Lot of the same bands, but not all the same songs.

Exactly what I was thinking.

"Is that new? Oh, it's one of the songs I skip over when listening to Ride the Lightning."

I can't even think of what it sounds like off the top of my head. Then again, it means I'm not completely sick of it, like Enter Sandman.

I think that was called FFXII.

Halo 3 marketing designed to not make Master Chief a 'reckless American cowboy'

Does it matter to the marketers that most non-gamers just refer to him as Halo?

Harmonix: Wii needs hard drive for DLC

Apr 9th 2008 1:30PM (Joystiq)
I would like Nintendo to release a HDD too, but they don't even need to go that far. The Wii has USB ports. Just allow external HDDs. They did it with keyboards. I'm sure it'll be more difficult, but far from impossible.

This allows gamers that want a HDD to use one, without confusing the "casual" market. Harmonix could release their own Rock Band-branded HDD.

Counting Rupees: Battle of the brands

Guitar Hero didn't always exist. People heard about it because the games are great. Harmonix made them great. And now they're doing the same thing with Rock Band.

Give it a little time. I have no doubt that great gameplay and word of mouth will allow Rock Band 2 to outsell any new versions of Guitar Hero.

Gibson lays lawsuit on GameStop, other major retailers

They don't have a choice. It's a quirky part of the trademark/copyright system. If they don't activley prohibit infringment, they lose their trademark/copyright.

It's why Disney had to sue a few daycares in the 1980s.

Rumor: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith to use drum and mic peripherals

Feb 17th 2008 8:44PM (Joystiq)
I wouldn't put much stock in this rumor. The press release went out of its way to note which members are "playable" in the game.

"puts players in the shoes of Perry (guitar), Whitford (guitar) and Hamilton (bass), as they rock out alongside frontman Tyler and drummer Kramer."

Maybe their not ready to announce the peripherals, that would probably have been the best time, considering Steven Tyler is clearly the frontman and playing as him would be a major announcement.

Yeah, you're the only one. I'm sorry.
