'The Simpsons': Homer Betrays Mob Boss in 'Goodfellas' Spoof (VIDEO)

Dec 13th 2010 11:42AM (AOL TV)
Yeah, what VP said. The whole Fit Tony/Homer voiceover thing was a clever nod to the audience to explain why, in future episodes, Fat Tony will still be around (and of course, a nod to Goodfellas).

Keith Olbermann Should Lighten Up... But So Should Pat Sajak

Nov 11th 2010 5:16PM (AOL TV)
The point of this post eludes me. So Sajak "always used wit and humor to get his point across." Yet he posts *one* blog post that is a bit more serious in tone, and he needs to "lighten up?" Can't the guy get to be a little serious just this once? He's a witty and charming guy, but he can't possibly be expected to be so in every single post.

'Max Headroom' Coming to DVD

Mar 1st 2010 7:23PM (AOL TV)
Clarification: There were several shows that starred Max. What you saw on Cinemax was a talk show that originated in England. Max (played by Frewer) was the host.

The BBC also did a TV movie with Max: Twenty Minutes Into the Future. This was the cyberpunk story you write about. This was also what the US pilot of the series was mostly based on. The series ran on ABC, and I loved every minute of it. :)

Subtle Subtitles: V

Look at that! I wonder if that's 720p or 1080i?

A quick look back at the original V franchise

Oct 30th 2009 2:33PM (AOL TV)
I rewatched it this summer as well (the weekly series), and it was truly awful. It got more and more unintentionally comical as it progressed... the infighting between Diana and Lydia was more like watching an episode of Dynasty. The writing was just as good.

I do hope the new series does better than my other childhood fave fared ("Knight Rider").

Heroes: An Invisible Thread (season finale)

Apr 28th 2009 9:51AM (AOL TV)
My only question: If Sylar had to shake the President's hand to be able to shape-shift into him, how did Peter get to able to take the President's form? Did Peter touch the President or get his DNA at some point that I missed?

NBC tinkered too much with new Knight Rider - VIDEO

Jan 6th 2009 9:00PM (AOL TV)
See, I thought just the opposite... I thought this version strayed too far from it's 80s roots, and needs to Turbo Boost back there ASAP.

The original series was very much a buddy-cop show, Michael Knight and KITT, with a few support characters. This version has an entire "team", all seeming to demand equal screen time. The end result is you don't get to know any one character too well, so you don't care about any of them. And the one character everyone wants to care about (the car), we don't get to see much at all.

I think if they pared it down more, it might work better. Though I certainly don't mind seeing more Deanna Russo. :)

When good toys go bad IX: Barbie's Fashion Fever fosters bad credit

Oct 9th 2007 11:03PM (Engadget)
Calm down, people. It. Is. A. Toy. No need to get all self-righteous and start a protest.

Did you play with toy guns when you were a kid? That looked like real guns? I sure did. And as of yet, I've never shot anyone, nor have any of my childhood friends that I know of.

I also remember having fun with candy cigarettes. And my dad smoked. But have I ever puffed on a cigarette even once? Nope.

This toy is the same thing. You can't tell me if it came with cash instead of a credit card, your little girl would say "Sorry, Barbie, you don't have enough money." She'd just take the cash out of the till and back into Barbie's purse.

A credit card is a financial tool that we all use. No toy is going to corrupt a child alone; parenting skills come into play too ya know. Relax, it's just a toy.

Midway reveals Game Party, doesn't get Wii gamers

Why all the hate for minigames? Some of us actually enjoy minigames. They're pefect for my three-year-old to play with mom and dad. We all enjoy playing as a family.
