Minecraft hits 3 million, Notch buys us all

Aug 5th 2011 12:01PM (Joystiq)
$66 Million Dollars? Man, I'm sure some developer, game company wants him bad.

I bet he never thought he would make that kind of dough.

Also there is a EU version which will be going into beta tomorrow, but the NA(USA) one seems to be the 5th.... I'm confused...

Europe: http://en.bountyhounds.com/

The EU one looks like they are more involved in it... just has more information. But it might(most likely) be IP blocked. Cause they are stinky, or mean, or something.

The Mog Log: What we know we don't know

Even though I'm in the Beta some things are still a puzzle. Hopefully with Phase 3 we'll get more information but everything in the past is a learn on your own type of deal.

Crafting:

Crafting can be your profession in the game. If that is all you want to do then you can do that. You can make millions in just mining, harvesting and so on. Its amazing how much they have stuck in this game to make and find. You don't have to do any battlecrafts if you don't want to, thats okay. Of course you won't get very far in the story line but you can use another character to do that if you wish.

The mini games for crafting are simple, somewhat puzzling, need more info on how certain features work but they are interesting and not boring to do. Can't just press a button and go make a sandwich type of deal.

Crafting itself it pretty painless. Just equip your crafting tools, access the crafting menu, add whatever and craft. Then you have a mini game for each one. Pretty simple.

Story & Endgame are not really brought out much. We can progress a tad through the main story line yet it doesn't reveal to much.

Basically you can be what you want. You can be a miner who is a archer. A Shepard who plays with magic. Its up to you to choose what you want. Possibilities are limitless and you'll always want to try something new and different. They threw away that idea that your character HAS to be a warrior or you have to be the mage or tank. You mix and match and be what you want with no preset ideas.

Hope that helped a little.

So what game are you playing? I don't think your playing the same game we are.

If you really don't know anything, it would be wise to goto the forums and ask. Or read some of the material they have left.

Its not really that difficult. Some things need to be changed but it's getting there.

Awesome, hope some of you make it in.

FYI, Phase 2 is over and Phase 3 begins mid-august. So within a couple weeks the whole game, or most of it will be live for us to test.

@Jade

Atm the cap is 30. Haven't reached that area yet but it seems to be just a preview of whats to come. So Hopefully they introduce more features into it that we can test.

I have yet to find a group that wants to test the battle system to its full. We don't even have a list of "skillchains"(named something different now, can't remember) to test. At least I can't find any.

Pretty much after you finish your 3-6 leve's you can party up with other people to help them complete theirs.

The problem I'm seeing with Leve's is that they are not very useful in the leveling up area. Once you get to rank 10+ you start getting better rewards but the exp and skill points are not very much.

So grinding by yourself is the best way at the moment to level up. Plus I believe they are going to introduce more quest for you to complete on your own and hopefully some more types of quest and leve's.
