Illuminating Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3
Apr 2nd 2012 2:48PM (Joystiq)Actually, DevilSei brings up something I was curious about too - the fate of the player-character and his gardening-based arsenal. I know he didn't have much real personality, but I'd gotten kind of attached to him, in the self-insert, team-up-with-the-real-heroes, Ghostbusters-new-recruit sort of way.
I can definitely understand the difficulties in trying to import a save from a different studio, but I wouldn't mind a new character-creation screen.
Unless I'm misreading the screens and one of the characters is the self-insert somehow?
Illuminating Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3
Apr 2nd 2012 1:41PM (Joystiq)I dunno, by "standalone adventure" I assume they didn't mean it's taking things in a totally different direction (since they said further down that it's still based firmly in Tycho's original story), but rather that everything that comes back will be re-introduced to the players in some way. Which, honestly, I would appreciate as someone who did play and enjoy the first two games - years ago.
I do miss the style, largely because it was a pretty good emulation of Gabe's art. But I also like the semi-cartoony 16-bit style Zeboyd has got going here. I think it will be different, but good.

Mar 26th 2012 4:33PM (Joystiq)I'm hearing more and more lately that it's not a matter of there being a market, but that it's much more expensive to develop for Android, because of the fragmentation of the market and the devices. The iPhone/iPad hardware is tightly controlled, with one steadily advancing line each for phone and tablet, but there's a much wider array of CPUs, GPUs, manufacturer-specific flavors of Android, etc to support.

Mar 14th 2012 5:45PM (Joystiq)I kid, I kid. Really though, it sounds cool. Would be nice to have those features in the other emulated consoles (though the main ones I'm interested in are the GBA games... but since I wanted the Zelda Limited Edition, I didn't get any ambassador games, so... oh well, thanks for that Nintendo).

Mar 9th 2012 5:28PM (Joystiq)Funny, my favorite of t he group is the pink-haired girl, who looks to actually be wearing them (or maybe just tights?). She looks the most like she's wearing something an actual person would ever wear outside of cosplay.
