iPhone 4G: is this it?

Apr 18th 2010 1:20AM (Engadget)
I only wish that a picture could have been taken of the entire backside, so that we could confirm if a camera flash was there. The phone looks nice and a design refresh was definitely needed regardless. iPhone's looks haven't changed enough the last three years.

BlackBerry OS 6.0 leaked?

Mar 19th 2010 1:10PM (Engadget)
If they optimized this OS version for touch and can make a Storm 3 that doesn't seem like an afterthought, I might just go back to BlackBerry. It's nice to see an OS that doesn't look like Windows 95 in your pocket.

Now, I can only hope they fixed the constant memory leaks in the OS and will finally make a BlackBerry where pulling out your battery doesn't solve 90% of your problems.

T-Mobile USA eyeing iPhone launch this year or next?

Mar 19th 2010 1:07PM (Engadget)
This story is complete and utter bullcrap. It's not the reporting though. It's the delusions of grandeur on T-Mobile's part. iPhone is exclusive to AT&T for 5 years. Count em, 5 years. USA Today reported this way back in 2007. We're not seeing any iPhones on T-Mobile until 2012, at the earliest. Let's also think about 4G rollout. We're not seeing 4G networks really built out to a national level until 2012 either. Verizon is starting now, Sprint is well ahead, AT&T is starting in 2011, and T-Mobile is going to be using HSPA+ as a bridge technology until whenever they deploy 4G.

I'm sure there are some places where T-Mobile has better 3G coverage than AT&T. But AT&T's network is bigger. I'm getting tired of people complaining all the time about AT&T exclusivity and so for that reason, I hope that T-Mobile gets the iPhone soon and that it makes Verizon speed up their LTE transition, assuming they will use LTE for voice too. I'd love to see T-Mobile get the iPhone for another reason as well: so we can move some congestion and data consumption to another network and relieve some of the pressure on AT&T, since they clearly can't handle it. But given what we know now, this is just more pointless posturing and blah blah blah from a CEO who would love to carry the iPhone but won't be able to for a couple of years.

Sony: PS2 back compat not returning to PS3 (ever)

Aug 20th 2009 11:39PM (Joystiq)
Does it even really matter what they say? If fans complain loud enough, they will add it back. I mean why even waste the time to patent something if you're never going to use it? Sony said this about rumble and we eventually got a dual shock 3. Until Sony starts digitally selling PS2 titles on PSN, people are going to complain about no bc non-stop. If Sony were smart enough to patent something that would satisfy fans and yet stupid enough not to implement it, I just dont know what to say about Sony. It's just perplexing.

If the cost of manufacturing dropped 70 percent, there really is no reason, whether it be logical, financial, or technical, why the bc hasn't been added back or isn't planning to be added.

Patch to fix Call of Duty 4 multiplayer exploit 'in the works'

How about patching some trophies in while they're at it? Lazy *****.

Trophies not coming to Street Fighter II HD Remix

Apr 28th 2009 12:11PM (Joystiq Playstation)
This is an absolute joke. What exactly is the point of being stubborn about this? The dude sounds childish as hell when he says "trophies were never promised". PS3 games that came out after summer 2008 were supposed to have trophies. Many lower tier games and lower tier developers didn't include trophies, which is understandable, but Capcom not doing it, and being a supposedly elite developer is more than a little stupid.

Obviously, someone needs to complain to Sony about this and put pressure on them, since they are more responsive than Capcom will ever be.

Public rage stalls Time Warner trials of consumption-based internet

Apr 16th 2009 1:32PM (Engadget HD)
Let's hope that people don't stop complaining. TWC deserves to lose all its customers for this bullcrap. I'm so happy that Frontier decided to screw Time Warner over and keep up the unlimited data consumption. Honestly, we don't need to be turning into Europe right now. When that congressman said that this will hamper our competitiveness, he is absolutely right. I hope the telcoms can spread fiber to everybody and give everyone the choice between the watered down crap of the past and the internet and HD options of the future that fiber provides. I can't WAIT to switch to FIOS or U-Verse when either one gets down here.

Capcom details patch fixes for Street Fighter II HD Remix

Mar 5th 2009 4:46PM (Joystiq)
How about some BLEEPING TROPHIES for the PS3 version? The bug fixes are great but the PS3 version definitely needs trophies. Not only that, but I think there needs to be an ending gallery, so when you've beaten the game with a certain character, their ending is accessible from a gallery.

Palm joins Adobe's Open Screen Project, Pre to support Flash

Feb 16th 2009 2:10AM (Engadget Mobile)
Camera flash with video recording is still missing. A pretty big deal in my book. The fact that manufacturers think they can get away without putting in video recording is preposterous.

FCC filing for PS3 updated with white model

Jan 22nd 2008 5:48PM (Joystiq Playstation)
In response to someone asking whether this white 40 gb PS3 will come with a DS 3, the answer is no. Having looked at the instruction manual Sony provided the FCC, it appears that Sony is being a bunch of stupid f***s and not including the DS3 in the box. They really need to phase the sixaxis out IMMEDIATELY and start bundling in the DS3.
