That 'law' regarding Standby is a long way from actually coming into force.
It's just ebay desperately trying to be seen as the good guy, and not just another rip off artist... They'd be guaranteed bad publicity in the run up to xmas, the papers love an 'ebay is a con' story.

I think it's unlikely that it will be 'MAME' but i'm sure MS could produce a generic arcade emulator with very little effort.
If i remember right, Aaron Giles - the main MAME coder at the minute, worked for the company that produced the very accurate PSX emulator (name escapes me) - that company was then bought... by MS, which is where he currently works.
And given the emulation hurdles they've jumped with xbox BC, they've got the right people already.

Just do it. Klax .. no brainer.

Can't MS just put down some money, sort a deal with the MAME guys, include net play, licence the entire capcom / sega / atari arcade back catalogue... and we've all got the perfect MAME machine sorted.
