17 hours? My god, I wish... again, this is after having the phone for two days, I'm not super-thrilled with what I'm getting. I'm in the red right now on my phone, and the phone is telling me it's been 4 hours a 44 minutes since last unplugged (I don't know how accurate this is actually, since I rebooted the phone; but I unplugged the phone around 7am, which leave me at about 9 hours since unplugged, estimated).

So nine hours would be okay had it not been for the fact that since I work from home, I've hardly used it. I sent a few texts to my wife, checked and sent a few emails, browsed a bit, and checked Twitter via Twidroid. This is even worse given the fact that:

- I have killed all of the annoying applications I don't need. All of those annoying Sprint Services have been unchecked, it doesn't sync news/stocks/Facebook/Twitter) AND I actually turned off syncing period since I'm front of a computer all day. Gtalk also doesn't automatically sign in and run when booted, either.
- GPS is turned off
- Did I mentioned I hardly used it today?

Honestly, the results people are getting from the battery varies so wildly, it's hard to tell what's normal with this thing. My wife is experiencing similar battery life to what I have seen, too. I need to use it longer (charged it up a few more times, use it in more 'real world' situations), but battery life isn't impressing me. And your 17 hours comment blows my mind.

I'm open to any suggestions, though. I love the phone otherwise. Just wish I could get more juice out of it.

This is great. Having just got the hone on Tuesday, I'm thrilled to see that the wait for 2.2 won't be very long. But one thing NOT mentioned on the new feature list is improved battery life/usage. Really, the battery life on this IS as bad as everyone says it is, it seems. I've done many tweaks, all of which were recommended to conserve life, and it still seems pretty poor (even for a multitasking smartphone -- I'm coming from the G1).

Crossing my fingers that it's an unmentioned "feature," but excited regardless.

I'm pretty sure that this promotion has been killed -- I tried to do it Firefox, and it kept giving me issues. So I tried again in IE, and it went through, but I missed the message it gave me after I hit submit.

Now there's an American Idol ad where the free points sign-up was ... if my submission DID go through, where were you guys getting the points? Is a code emailed to you?

Yes. No Phantom Hourglass this year. You know, Gamestop/EB Games have had the game listed as a March '07 release for weeks now. But you know, they can't be trusted. No sir. They just make those dates up. Out of thin air, I say!

But they had a hanging corpse prop at their booth!

It's a no brainer: EA is publishing it. They'll make sure it's ported to everything they can.
