Vita games with internal memory can't use memory cards

Oct 25th 2011 3:40PM (Joystiq)
@Chanka

The real target here is like those online pass codes, attack game lending and resale. It is going to far, it is like the GT5 DLC not being able to share with other family accounts on the same PS3. With games saved on the game card, It will be difficult for you to lend your game to a friend/relative without them playing your saved game. It is like those 3DS games with uneraseable saves.

Or Sony gives us the option to upload saved games to our online account like the PS+ subscribers can do, or I will simply not buy games I can not lend to another member of my family without they messing with my saved game

Report: Angry Birds devs looking to become publishers

Sep 21st 2011 10:45AM (Joystiq)
What about using that money to develop a new game? Rovio is just afraid to do something new, because they will not get the same "success" of Angry Birds, this is common, one big hit then nothing more

New Xbox 360 update incompatible with some models, MS offering replacements [update]

May 18th 2011 9:59AM (Joystiq)
@The Tim

probably because you need a game using the new format to trigger it, and there are no games currently for sale using that format because the update has not been distributed

PS3 firmware 3.60 is live with cloud saves ... oh, and hacker suggests PS3 is 're-secured'

Mar 10th 2011 7:58AM (Joystiq)
@Weiji

Autosave is impractical, or do you want to wait each time a game with checkpoints to upload the file to Sony servers? come save files are small some are a few megabytes. I prefer they add an option of synchronization by request, newer local files are uploaded and newer remote file are downloadded

Forza 4 tuned up to take checkered flag, boosted by Kinect

Feb 18th 2011 4:55PM (Joystiq)
@PeterPanana

I am not sure that head tracking is something more than a gimmick too, Forza version is expected to be better because of Kinect in comparison with what the PS Eye can do, but turing your head to look to the right side and then the need to move your eyes to the left side to see the TV is very tiresome, at least on GT5, and I think it will be the same on Forza. But just moving the perspective up and down left and right without turning the head is nice.

Too bad extra TVs, PS3s and GT5 cost money for the multidisplay feature og GT5 :-(

Killzone 3 review: Third time's the harm

Feb 3rd 2011 2:27PM (Joystiq)
@MyAbsolution

It is a beta to test the server infrastructure, testing with more load than the private beta allowed, if problems are found (as the @Killzonedotcom twitter accounts notified this morning) they are fixed server side before the day of release

id's Carmack comments on NGP's theoretical performance

Jan 27th 2011 2:10PM (Joystiq)
@Drew327

I know he is talking about FPS, number of polygons and texture sizes, but the NGP has another things that will make it excels over smartphones, the sticks and buttons. If possible I play a lower graphics quality on my PSP with buttons than a super graphics powered on rails Rage on iPhone

Portal 2 getting user-created content 'on all platforms,' has two endings

Jan 24th 2011 3:28PM (Joystiq)
@SisypheanLife

I think XBox owners will be receive the UT3 treatment, some DLC will be created with community content revised by Valve and MS, meanwhile PS3/PC owner will receive them directly via Steam, without the middle man and more quantity

Report: PSP2 features OLED screen, will offer 3G data

Jan 24th 2011 7:50AM (Joystiq)
@PiiSPii There are already vulnerabilities for WPA-TKIP, so that is the reason Android 2.2 only supports WPA2, and the PSP is only WPA so there is no way to use them together

Report: PSP2 features OLED screen, will offer 3G data

Jan 23rd 2011 5:30PM (Joystiq)
Hopefully there is a model with Wifi only, I already have an Android phone with Wifi Hotspot from Android 2.2 and I can't use it for my PSP because it only support the older less secure WPA, and I do not think that to create a open hotspot on my phone is a wise idea. I do not want another contract for a PSP2
