For some reason when I first read this thread it only displayed the first 83 posts, so I didn't read those last posts about the other broken hinges. Anyway, I took the DS Lite back to Argos, and got it replaced with a DS fat. The screen doesn't look that different really, and the hinge is a LOT better!

Here's some 2 pics of my broken dslite hinge, yes BROKEN! This is the second one to break, I think it's succummed to the "stress test" factor, where products are repeatly used until they break. My DS lite is opened and closed about 20 times a day by my 3 children, I think that is why mine have broken before anyone elses. Its only a matter of time people. btw, I had each one about a month before they broke. That works out at 20 openings over 30 days, making 600 openings before it breaks! The links to the pics are:
