Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium MMO now single-player game, 118 laid off

Mar 29th 2012 2:52PM (Joystiq)
I really hate to see people at good studios like Vigil and Relic laid off. What makes this even worse is that this is practically all due to the incompetent leadership at THQ.

I will admit however the prospect of a KOTOR/Space Marine style WH40k game with multi elements sounds really good. I loved Space Marine and if they retain the same gameplay elements but put in a more expansive story and multi player features (coop would be perfect) it would be a best seller.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 getting two DLC maps on day one, more coming in March

Difference between map packs and this is that the map packs cost 10 bucks and upwards. This is free with the purchase of the new game. Im not seeing how this is so horrible in comparison to World at War's 10 dollar map packs (the only good one being the 2nd). Hell, you could even wait until the game goes on sale for 45-50 bucks new and still get all the free DLC.

Report: Microsoft turned down US Army's order of Xbox 360 systems

Feb 11th 2010 3:50PM (Joystiq)
"They made a decision that was best for their company. Capitalism doesn't get thrown aside just because the Army is involved. Free market, which includes the right to deny service to anyone for any reason, is not tossed aside for patriotism. Our country has been founded on it and it exists at all times because of that. I'll not fault a company for doing right for their company, considering that's what is held up as the shining ideal."

QFT. The civilian sector is currently experiencing the same end of that sword unfortunately.

Considering 2006 and the rampant red ring of death on top of system shortages, I think they made the right decision financially.

Everyone screaming about patriotism is simply having a kneejerk reaction.
