Maybe its good that they skipped Silent Hill 2, since they'd likely butcher it in film form.

Either way, I'm cautiously interested in this if true.

The first movie was okay when it was doing its own thing. But then Pyramid Head walked in and I instantly lost interest. Talk about bringing in an unnecessary character to grab everyone's attention.

Either way, I will go into this movie cautiously. The first film captured the atmosphere of the games. It just tried to hard to go, "HEY LOOK! I'M JUST LIKE THE GAMES!"

Also, don't try to reference the other games stories either, try something original.

Silent Hill 2 remake, cool.
Silent Hill 2 like Shattered Memories, hell no.
New Silent Hill, preferred... unless it sucks like the last 3 Silent Hill titles.

They can never completely dismiss it. Because if they ever get into a bad financial place, they can pull this out and make back their lost money. However, I wouldn't care overly much if a VII remake was as HD shiny as XIII. I'd just love to see the game remade. Well, when the time comes, the time comes.

Now this is a perfect cap to a day of free games. I remember booting up Tiberian Sun back in the day, what a classic. Never got around to picking up Firestorm though, this sounds like my chance.
