The only reason to even mention that other people have done it in the past is to specifically say "this isn't special, it's been done." That isn't the story. The story isn't about anything being special. The story is simply that the guy is going to be there in New York.

Should every X06 post say "but remember, Nintendo had their own press conference just two weeks ago, and Sony had a strong showing at TGS." No, of course not.

Not everything is about some bullshit competition. The purpose of those posts are to inform people interested in X-box what is going on at X-06. The purpose of a story saying Reggie will be at New York is to inform people interested in the Wii that they could get theirs handed to them by Reggie.

This will be useful for me. I would like to browse the internet before work, or just before going to bed, but this is usually before booting or after shutting down my computer. It takes too long to start the damn thing, and it would be useful to have internet instantly accessible on my television.

Also, with the way I imagine channels, say you are stuck in a game or something. You hit the home button, and the game goes into standby, just like a DS, you are at your chanels browsing page. You go over to Opera the web channel, zip to gamefaqs, and look up the game you are having trouble on. See the place, hit the home button and jump back into your game. Now that would be awesome.

I used a flux capacitor to great effect on a date once.

I knew the girl was a huge BttF fan based on some friends saying she was obsessed. So I actually did a design document for the flux capacitor based on a screencap of when Doc shows Marty that picture. Then I wore a band-aid on my forehead, and when she asked about it, I began to relate the story almost exactly like Doc, how I had been adjusting something and fell and hit my head on the sink. She had this look of concern like "Oh you poor baby", not yet getting the reference(which was my intention). Then I slowly reached into my coat pocket and looked her in the eye deadpan and said "And then, I drew this...", handing her the diagram.

She burst into a fit of laughter. It was one of my most particularly suave moments. She loved it.
