Basically what Maveric said. Most games try hard to showcase the core gameplay in different ways throughout. Like Super Meat Boy for example. The core gameplay was great so it didn't need a whole lot of variety. Though if Mirror's Edge was given a sequel it could try to convince people like you that the core gameplay was just average. More cinematics and gameplay components.

And I would MUCH rather have Mirror's Edge 2 than Battlefield 3. Even though I have never been a fan of Dice's shooters, no one can deny that the market is oversaturated with them. Even with that any type of shooter = $$$

Mirror's Edge is one of the few titles in the past couple years that actually tried to innovate. What a disappointment that it doesn't get a chance to fix it's flaws with a sequel. Especially since games like Call of Duty gets a sequel every year. Just not fair.

The game is a bit too long to me. I still haven't beat it. But I guess I just have a really bad attention span when it comes to games.

Music games are a niche market now. The novelty has worn off. It targets your specific group, but overall. They aren't doing well.

Despite everyone's criticism on Call of Duty (I enjoy them still), Activision is going the way of EA last generation. They got too big with too many farnchises which eventually leading them to make a lot of cuts. Remember early this gen? EA was on the verge of bankruptcy. It's only now that they're realizing how to stay stable.

I really disagree with you. Kratos is really similar to a classic badass comic book character. Not every good character has to be moody and "deep".
