You wanna be startin' something? Sure, Michael was off the wall but you should look at the man in the mirror before you cast Michael as the bad guy...

Upcoming Xbox 360 update locking out 'unauthorized' Memory Units

Oct 18th 2009 6:36AM (Joystiq)
How many of the people here actually OWN any unauthorized piece of equipment for their XBox? Not third party, because MS also authorizes those products...unauthorized means that the manufacturer didn't go through approval process most likely because they offer a product that is meant not just to take money out of MS pockets but to also skirt some rules. It is clear that it could be used to transfer game saves so a good reason to ban the use of the card is for gamerscores...I don't care about scores, most people here don't care about scores, but there are a sizable amount of the community who do care and will probably be happy about a move like this.

Guidance counselor said I could either be a veternarian or for-hire stealth killer...after an associate's degree and a few years caring for orphaned animals then I figured "why not"?

Sticking a frying pan into a box is a sure way of testing for carcinogens...trust me, the cigarette & asbestos companies used this signature test back in the 50's and we are all doing great!

StarCraft II: Blizzard responds to lack of LAN support

Jun 30th 2009 8:43AM (Joystiq)
Yea, and if you are upset about this but then saying "well, I will get the pirated version" then all you are doing is proving Blizzard right. Sorry, the excuse of "they made me do it by removing this feature!" without seeing their solution or JUST NOT BUYING THE PRODUCT is weak to me...as much as people really want LAN Starcraft II, it isn't a god-given right and you can just play old StarCraft on LAN still. But resorting to piracy just gives companies more reason to use piracy as an excuse when they want to...it is cyclical behavior..

StarCraft II: Blizzard responds to lack of LAN support

I'm going to buck the trend and agree with Blizzard on this one...as long as Battle.net has some type of free head-to-head play. This doesn't seem as intrusive as DRM usually is and with online access almost always available I can't see why a direct connection would be needed if Battle.net is going to be beefy enough to handle the demand on it.

And saying that "pirates have nothing to do with it" and then calling Blizzard greedy is simplifying the matter to the extreme; losing large chunks of money due to people grabbing warez copies of your game has nothing to do with a company restricting access to game features? If anything, that sounds like a HUGE business reason to restrict it to online only...and like someone said, if it works for Steam...

But I do agree that it is sad when the all the people who bought Starcraft for LAN parties throughout the years suffer due to decisions like this...I just understand why it happens though.

"From the set designers of Logan's Run & V comes AIRPod!"

Seriously, this thing is straight out of a Sci-Fi Original Movie...not in a good way either.

Midway Newcastle reveals new IP: Necessary Force

Are you referring to my use of "exploitation"? Because I meant it in the 70's/80's B-Movie sense where rather then some corporate term (see "blaxploitation").
