I can only see one way this 'elite' stuff will take off - if by getting the subscription you don't have to buy the standalone game at all to play multiplayer. If it all worked out to slightly less then buying the game and dlc's I think a few people will do it (esp since not everyone gets the dlc).
For those random addons, is their business plan hoping people will buy in to see what it is, and hope they forget to cancel?
I really want to know more about how hard mode alters the game - like whats the difference between landing and failing a flatground flip trick? In Skate I found unrealistic tricks still too easy to do (or happen as a result of me failing a different trick), which kinda takes from the immersion.
I'm personally living at a University, which for its i-net connection blocks a wide range of IP addresses (you never know which ones until you try - and yes it sucks I know), in practice for most games requiring servers I can circumvent this problem by being a lobby leader and having my pc choose the ip of the server. As for this, there's a huge chance I'll never be able to connect to ubisoft servers and from day one despite a superfast internet connection it'll be an unplayable brick.
It's a 25quid gamble, and why would I do that when pirating the game may be the only way I could even play it.
