Report: Capcom sees 'no distinction' between on-disc and off-disc DLC

Apr 3rd 2012 11:58AM (Joystiq)
@Grimbear13 - No, I'd say it's more like putting in the Blu-Ray and having to pay extra for the deleted scenes.

Yes, it's pretty pathetic that they've handled their DLC this way but they didn't sell you 60% of a game. If those characters didn't exist and had never been developed, I don't think you'd see a swarm of people complaining about the game lacking content.

The only reason people believe the game is incomplete is because they know more content exists. Otherwise, I think they'd be perfectly happy with the amount of content that they got.

@FinalFantasyXIIIsucks - I don't think you'll see them turn off access to XBL on the 360 quite like they did with the original Xbox.

The way I understand it, a lot of the functionality of Xbox Live on the original Xbox was done on the game disc instead of the console, which is why when they released updates to enable new features (like messaging for example), it was only supported by games that came out after the update.

So they decided to turn off Xbox Live for the original Xbox because some of the changes they wanted to make would've required them to update each original Xbox game instead of just doing one firmware update like they can do on the 360 now to add in new XBL features.

Since all of that stuff is now built into the console instead of the individual games, they won't run into the same issue moving from the 360 to the next console that they have going from the Xbox to the 360.

Now, all of that is solely picked up from various tidbits of information I've heard over the past few years. It may or may not be 100% accurate but it's what I've been lead to believe.

Skullgirls hits XBLA April 11, PSN release still undetermined

Mar 31st 2012 11:30PM (Joystiq)
@LittleMofreaky - The article says that the PSN release will very likely be April 10th they just don't know for sure yet.

This has nothing to do with XBLA rules.

Reading comprehension FTW.

@MDizzy - It is not. Going Under was on Rock Band Network and the previous pack contained Bring Me To Life, Call Me When You're Sober & Weight of the World.

I know nothing about this game but the way people have been talking about it, I feel I should probably at least download the trial.

Ridge Racer Unbounded is undelayed [update: officially released]

@(Unverified) - Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was pretty much a Burnout game with a different name but I completely agree with you about wanting a new one.

I'd be ok with a new Paradise style open world game but I really want a new circuit based Burnout in the style of Burnout 3 or Burnout: Revenge, especially now with the Revenge 360 servers closing down.
