Rumor: Epic Mickey's Wii exclusivity in question

Oct 8th 2009 2:04AM (Joystiq)
I have a Wii, and I'd much rather see this on another platform. Why? Because Wii games (even ones with wonderful art direction) look godawful. The resolution is just too low to succeed with anything besides the whole retro-low-res vibe. It may not be a big deal if you're playing on a small TV, but on an HD set, the 480p resolution cap is awful.

Street Fighter IV PC comes packin' ... a fightpad

May 10th 2009 5:50AM (Joystiq)
Can anyone tell me what's so special about these particular pads? I know people in general don't like the 360 controller for SFIV -- I've played it that way and thought it was fine, but I'm not exactly a fighting game junkie. I'm just trying to decide whether to pick up the boxed copy or to get it on Steam and use the 360 controller I plan on buying for my PC anyway.

Dark Void scored by Battlestar Galactica's Bear McCreary

Apr 2nd 2009 4:02PM (Joystiq)
I hadn't heard of Dark Void, but now I'm interested. McCreary did great work on BSG.

As a side note, I'd love to see his badass arrangement of "All Along the Watchtower" make a cameo in the game. Probably not going to happen, but, you know, a guy can dream.

DS Daily: Fan of the controls

Oct 16th 2008 4:54AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
The World Ends With You was a "holy shit" moment for me. It was incredible to realize that a game had been designed so centrally around the controls and layout of the DS -- I just couldn't think of anything else quite like it. Other games use the stylus well (Metroid Prime: Hunters and Trauma Center come to mind) but they usually don't know what to do with that second screen -- map, score, progress info, whatever. TWEWY is different. The combat revolves around using both screens simultaneously, in a careful, rhythmic, balance. It's totally system-centric, completely tailored to what the DS does well. For me, it has more or less defined what devs can -- and should -- do with the DS platform.
