Slacker Portable gets Devicescape WiFi manager

Apr 2nd 2008 4:10PM (Engadget)
This could replace XM - no annoying DJs and no monthly fees. Wish it had expandable memory for your own files such as microSD. Then it could replace the ipod too.

I dropped XM as soon as I saw this. Now I've just about saved enough money to buy the 40 station version of the player. The Devicescape capability seals the deal.

Dead Space may provide scares without pause

Feb 13th 2008 10:15AM (Joystiq)
Good point Doc.

I was basing my interpretation on the following info from the article...
"you could hit pause, calmly cycle through your inventory and ram a few health packs down your throat...developers talking about omitting that option completely so you won't be able to pause the game, revive, and take a breather."

Looking further towards the end, there was the mention of removing the pause altogether. They would get so much flak for doing something like that - I hope they have someone there with a bit of common sense.

Dead Space may provide scares without pause

Looking at the comments, there was apparently only one person that read the entire story.

They are talking about using the Pause feature to stop time in order to use inventory items such as health packs or change weapons. I can see this as a good thing to keep you from pausing to fill up on health packs in order to defeat the enemy.

There was no mention that I could see of not being able to pause the game.

Bioshock may give Halo3 some competition.

This game is a must buy ASAP title for me...Halo3 may wait a couple of months...well couple of weeks...days. Oh who am I kidding - I am going to be so broke at the end of this year...

But I will be smiling with all the game love :P

CE-Oh no he didn't! Part XIV : Lack of rumble keeps PS3 controller "affordable"

Oct 6th 2006 9:55AM (Engadget)
All the people saying they don't use rumble - good for you.

But, personally I do enjoy the rumble, it does help in the immersion factor. Playing Forza on the XBox or 360 - the rumble played a significant factor in helping to determine if I was pushing the tires too much.

The problem I have with Sony is that they don't give you the option of turning it off - It's not there. At least with Microsoft - you have the choice. Choice is good!
