how can some people even expect to get much money from xbox games when they dont even sell at all. honestly you should be glad gamestop took them back this long. even if they dont give much, their thousands of stores gave people money for games that will never sell again.
Dang. I would like to see developer's get more money, sure. But geez, just look at how many freaking bad games come out that are still $60. Or just mediocre games! And games that are way to hyped up! All $60/ $50!!
I've been buying used games from Gamestop for awhile, and I feel perfectly fine about it. Every new game that comes out will come in used. Yes they start at $55 at first, but they send coupons every week and their card gets %10 off. But even all that aside, you can bring the freaking game back within a week and just get your cash back, no questions asked. So I've basically BEATEN a lot of games for free. I don't pay a thing after that week is over. The guys at gamestop don't like that I do this a lot, but what else do you do with Star Wars: TFU when you finish it? It's not even long!
But as far as getting ripped off when trading in games, well I've only done it a couple times, and I only do it when they have a special thing going on. But more importantly, go into ANY Gamestop and look around. What kind of games do you see most of? LAST generation. And people are constantly upgrading. I can guarantee that a HUGE portion of those old PS2, XBOX and Gamecube games will NEVER EVER sell. Gamestop gave money to people for those used games, and it doesn't matter that they don't give that much for a lot, because they will never make money back on those games. They make it back with the "new" used games. So it evens out.
I realized this recently when I was walking in my store. And I saw someone trading in his PS2 and a box full of games because he was going to get a 360. And afterwards I asked how many used PS2s they had, and they said they had over 100. I can't believe they have so many. What are they going to do with those? It's so much money.
but the high ranked people just play cheap with exploits and just plain lameness (such as jumping over the goalie with diddy or using Boo sidekick charge-shot at a certain angle that the goalie cant block). TRIFORCE was ranked 1 (and prolly still is) when i played (i played against him; super-cheap), and i was able to get to rank 6 at a point :)
Guild Wars has been around for too long, but I DO KNOW several people who are going from WoW to LOTRO (or both). I mean hey, its a great game and it looks way better than WoW.
Over 90% of the time I'm sure that when you buy a new game you're just going to open it immediately. There REALLY is no difference... you're tone indicates that touching a compact disc = scratch and it's broken or something. Not only that, but Gamestop still allows you to return it IF it doesn't work, like any new game.
They even offer to shrink-wrap it! what more do you want? If it's a gift, then ask em to wrap it.
Is there any legit reason to buy the Nintendo component cables over the 3rd party ones? I onyl say this becuase if I'm getting Wii component cables, I want the best. Is there even a best or is it all relatively the same?
I've thought of it this way: if you're playing REAL tennis or bowling, and you have sweaty hands, you better be careful and hold on! If you're sweaty and you let go of that racket of the bowling ball, the results will be even MORE destructive than letting go of a Wii remote. Also, it is not uncommon for people to do this (accidentally throw their racket/ baseball bat/ bowling ball). If that accident does occur, it's not the fault of those who make the thing is it? Of course not!
So a flying Wii remote is in no way Nintendo's fault. Also, people who play the Wii have a CHOICE on whether to swing their arms a lot or just safely flick the wrist. Nintendo does not force people to swing the remote. Plus that have that disclaimer in Wii sports that tells you to play in a open area where you will not hit any PEOPLE or OBJECTS.

I don't see how Nintendo can be responsible.
