New Smash Bros. trailer, in English
Nov 27th 2006 6:33PM (Joystiq)lol, say what you want, the smash bros melee community is still bigger than halo 2, and brawl will keep it up, even with worse graphics than the next recycled halo.
gameplay over graphics.
Five reasons why Wii will disappoint
Nov 18th 2006 3:30PM (Joystiq)I thought the joystiq readers were pretty dumb, but when they are commenting on your posts, which stand right under your "bitching posts" (as I call em now), they look pretty smart!
A real argument compares the BAD with the GOOD. One-sided arguments indentifies the writer (you, Vlad) as entirely imcompetent. Quite writing like a freaking 4th grader, geez.
Wii on an HD set? It'll cost ya extra (if you want it to look good). (Wii annoyance #004)
Nov 18th 2006 3:15PM (Joystiq)I could see how this is a Wii "annoyance," as in it's something you just don't care for but are not necessarily pissed off about. But the PS3's lack of cables is a whole different thing. Personally I think there's no excuse for that, since graphics is pretty much all the PS3 has going for it (at least in comparison to all other features, graphics far surpasses all). It was irresponsible and unacceptable for Sony to do that, imo, but for Nintendo: yeah I wish it came with it, but the situation is different... so I would let it slide. I'm not HAPPY about it, but I'd let it slide.
Nintendo's new Zelda falls flat
Nov 12th 2006 1:48AM (Joystiq)Whether you compare Twilight Princess to PS3 games, 360 games, or "last-gen" games, it still has a pretty good chance of being perhaps the best game ever made. It has a much better chance than any game you can probably think of that has yet to come out, even on next-gen. I, and I'm sure as well as others, am confident that none of these games even stand a chance.
Many still consider Ocarina to be the best, and look at those visuals!
It was a good point that someone made, saying that pretty much all the upcoming games have some sort of dull color. Gears of War, Assassins Creed, PS3 games. So don't accuse Zelda of being too dull when other games are doing the same (and you are comparing, after all).
btw, Oblivion signs say 1-5 words pretty much. In Zelda they may need to say a lot more. If you're such a hardcore gamer you wouldn't need signs anyways, lol.
You're tone made it seem like these things in the game ruined it for you. Is all of Zelda BAD because of this? Of course not (hell, I don't really KNOW this, but you didn't even address any good things about it, so I probably know it just as well as you do). If you don't like Twilight Princess, then SAY IT EXPLICITLY and state why. To just complain about small aspects of the games in the area of visuals without giving any credit makes you seem like you just want to piss off fanboys or something. Come on.
Gameplay > graphics can be proven well enough even outside of Nintendo. Talk about something that really matters instead of miniscule whiny complaints.
O yeah, one last thing. Since all you complained about were these tiny things, I assume everything else is awesome? I mean, if you had a real problem with the game, you would talk about something more meaningful, yet all you can find to bag on Zelda is THIS? LOL nt.
Microsoft not allowing Red Octane to produce wireless guitar
Nov 5th 2006 3:58PM (Joystiq)Also, responding to Optimus Prime (though off-topic): I disagree. I think the wiimote is definitely more innovative than Guitar Hero's guitar, especially when considering the attachment peripherals and what those can do. Arcade guitar games (also music games with other instruments) have been around for a long time. Sure there are arcade games that utilize some object similar to the Wiimote, but they do not nearly have the same amount of versatility.
In fact, Guitar Hero for the Wii, because of the Wiimote, has more potential than the other games. The guitar can be made to plug into the Wiimote, and they can utilize the controls speaker. Also, what if they made the wiimote attach to the guitar, so you can do "tricks" or just other movements with the guitar that may reflect what's on the screen. Or maybe, just as you have to press buttons on the frets of guitar at a certain time, they can make it so that you have to jump or just accelerate the guitar fast somehow at a time as well. Only on the Wii. :)
