Activision's Kotick on Brutal Legend drama: 'That's not really what happened'

Nov 9th 2010 1:11PM (Joystiq)
@AlexKo Okay last try. Half of my comment keeps disappearing for some reason... @Chris: I saw that last night when I read the review. That's why I heart joystiq. So keep it up fellas!

I will say this though; If the individual who is responsible for the Black ops review attended the events, then the integrity of their review is nonexistent. Sorry for the double post.

@TheDarkWayne I said no such thing. I wouldn't be here if I didn't like and frequent joystiq.

I find this to be fairly interesting.

http://www.gameplanet.co.nz/xbox/games/162452/news/136024.20101102.Activision-hosts-invitational-Black-Ops-review-event/

"Gameplanet has been contacted this morning by Activision's local representatives who have informed us that, as a result of our publication of this article, our scheduled interview with Call of Duty: Black Ops' military advisor Hank Keirsey has now been cancelled.

Activision invited select media outlets from around the world to review the latest Call of Duty game at a junket in Santa Monica, Gameplanet has learned.

Journalists from these outlets were accommodated in a hotel at Activision’s expense and we understand that this contingent also participated in an experiential outdoors activity paid for by the publisher.

A similar event was held last year for select reviews of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

It is Gameplanet’s belief that such gratuity compromises the integrity of any review and as a result, this publication has never and will never accept such an invitation."

EA explains how beta feedback changed Medal of Honor's multiplayer

Aug 23rd 2010 10:38PM (Joystiq)
I'm sort of...Inclined to believe them. I'm probably just living in a gumdrop fantasy world, but it is nice to hear from a dev/publisher concerning the beta. Especially when a lot of people were or weren't impressed. Regardless, I enjoyed it. Much more then CODs copy and paste multiplayer. Just my opinion though.
