Apparently you didnt hear about Red Dead Redemption's development. Moral of the story is dont work on a Rockstar project.

Its not a placeholder, they will not replace that model with the real model. Its a graphical element so you can barely see features behind the fog, the parts they want seen had to be exaggerated and the parts they don't want seen were taken back based on the visibility of the fog. Replacing that with the real model won't achieve the look they were going for with the mask on.

Based on ME2 they were more pissed that they didn't get to see her face (which was stupid, shepard got to see her face, we are supposed to see the game through shepard's point of view, so wtf), ending the series without seeing what a Quarian looks like would cause quite an uproar, way more than just a few fanboys who will be disappointed in the chosen design.

DLC can be anything, it is downloadable content, whatever that content is. Lost and the Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony are examples of expansions that were DLC.

I really wish more games would do that (coughMASSEFFECTcough). I dont bother with mission based DLC, I dont think its worth the money. Big expansion packs may cost a lot more but you get what feels like a whole new game.
