The ps3 video service is priced better than microsoft. Microsoft charges 4 dollar (280 points) and 6 dollars for 720p movies (480 points) and 2 dollar to rent tv shows.

It's obvious that Microsoft did not integrated the HD DVD player in the XBOX360. They were not confident that it would succeed. Wise choice. As we can see that the Blu-ray is kicking HD DVD butt. Plus, Sony has a strong tides with Studios over Microsoft.

So, I bet they will have a blu-ray player, too.

Don't forget!! ps3 is now almost 100 % backward compatible w/ ps2 games and ps 1. Plenty new ps2 games coming out, too. God of War 2 is a game I am waiting for. Plus, more games coming out in weeks after launch, such as Lair, Warhawk, Tekken 6 and MGS4 and etc.

Not entirely true, Virtual fighter 5 is first done as an arcade game. It is then ported or developed into ps3 and ported to x360 later this year. Bioshock was developed for ps3 first then switched to x360 and then decided to do it as multi-platform. Would the ps3 have more content??? Programming is evolving and it has to, in order, to survive. Guru of any profession like a challenge. Cell processing is a challenge. Eventually, it would be easy to develop once other technologies advance and cost would come down. Any new tech's price come down over time. So, developers in short term may regard on less production oost, but on major games like mgs4 or re5, they would rather work on better technology, not old technology x360 would be in 2 years. progamming has advanced from basic to C+++ and whatever language they are using now. I am not a programmer, but it does make sense. Why do we buy newer computers or switch to newer gadgets! Developers with newer tools or toys would rather make an awesome game on more advance console. However, market share still dictate where they will go. Sony is still the leader with their ps2. Hence, games like silent hill, resident evil, etc will continue on playstation.

Sony still have things to improve. Psn is okay. Browser sucks. they should add iptv. They should allow psp players play with ps3 players. They should have social games like uno. Allow us to play others through our pc too.

All of you are wrong! It has to do with the market share. PS2 has the biggest share, then xbox 360, Wii, and at the tail end ps3. However, since we are in the HDTV era, it is also going to be based on company's past success. Sony has suprised the nay sayers in the past. PS2 is a great example. They said it was a difficult system and costly to develop games. Yet it is has won. PS3 is in its early infancy. By year end, there will be some amazing games like Lair, killzone 2, tekken 6, heavenly sword, virtual figher 5 (ps3 1st), mgs4,etc. In year 2008, besides silent 5 or re5, there will be some awesome games unmatched by 360. 360 only good games coming out this year is lost planet, halo 3 and maybe bioshock (also ps3). By year end, I predict sony will have 10 million owners. 360 will have 14 million. by end of 2008, sony will have 22 million (ps3 likely will have a price drop by then) and microsoft will have 17 million. Wii is just a novelty (probably 20 million by then).

At launch, they supplied 150k to 200k. The following week or 2, rest of the 500k start showing up. I got 1 of the 400k (us, not north america), b/c it had tallagada night movie. bad luck, it did not work well. Won't always read disks. Return it to Sony and a brand new one from SCEA. How Does SCEA has so many to do exchanges? So, some of the 400k were sent to SCEA for issues. They are aiming 1 million for the end of the year. Perhaps, from the current looks of things, they noticed that they have exceeded the 1 million mark and
are inching toward the 2 million mark. I am guessing that they are about 1.5 million by Christmas and 1.6 by year end. Some retailers might hold bulk of them for a later launch like Best Buy did last year with x360. There was a rumor date of dec 17 or somewhere there. I think realistically, they may able to make b/n 4 to 5 million units by march.

PS3 graphics are equal to 2nd gen games of the 360. Developers are just learning the cell. In time and money,ps3 games of next generations will look and play way better than 360. Killzone 2 and metal gear 4 will show the power. Gears of War is the best 360 can do. Even that, the single player of Gears of War is average at best. Both systems are must have b/c of exclusive games. I have both.

The comparison is almost fair:

xbox 360 premium: $400 (which has 20 gb hdd, wireless controller, headset, some microsoft points, 1 free month xboxlive) it Lacks:::: wifi, next gen movie player

To compare with the low end ps3: it has 20 gb hdd, wireless controller, wifi, blue ray player, free online multiplayer and internet browser ($499)

xbox360 prem $400 + wifi adapter ($99)+ hd dvd player (199)= 698

p3 low end= 499 + headset ($25) + hdmi (30) + remote $25= 579

Ps3 is more affordable plus it gives you option not to have a computer. Most people use the computer to browse the internet. Plus, this comparison is for those who WANT a next gen player. Ps3 fans are forced to have a next gen player. Plus, it is way cheaper with ps3 than to buy a BD player separately. With the X360 w/o the player, ps3 is only $80 more. X360, so far does NOT have a internet browsing capability. Priceless. So, ps3 is better all around. Eat that x360 fans.

I do own xbox360, but I disagree with all of you. GoW does look great, but so does Resistance. Neither games are out for us to judge. We cannot say PS3 1st gen is better or worse. We are basing on others who had the chance to see in person and played demos. If you go to www.gamestrailer.com, you'll see trailers of ps3 games in HD. They look awesome and Wow. Some Gameplay was shown of the White Knight and Resistance. Plus, the Blu-ray allow 3rd party to develop better games down the road. Longer games, too. Games bigger than DVD9 capacity would require multiple discs whereas Blu-ray would not. So, in 2 or 3 years, PS3 would kick the day light of XBox360 for sure. Don't get me wrong, there will be fun games on both system, but PS3 is better in long term and equal in short term. Playing games at 1080p is better in total satisfaction. I will own PS3 too. If there were no exclusive games, I would prefer PS3.
