Battlefield 3 customizable servers coming to consoles

Mar 7th 2012 12:43PM (Joystiq)
@rezhoner What are you talking about, consoles cannot support 64 players? They can only support a max of 24 players per map.

Battlefield 3 customizable servers coming to consoles

Mar 7th 2012 12:38PM (Joystiq)
I never realized that consoles didn't have customizable servers. I play BF3 on the PC and at first I hated how all of the server options had to be done in an internet browser. But now it makes perfect sense, and I wouldn't want to play without it. Being able to fine tune the type of server you want to play on is one of the main reason I play so often. I hate playing 64 player Metro with RPG's and M320, its just absolute chaos, and takes all the skill out of it. But being able to login to a server with restrictions makes the game play much more enjoyable IMO.

Halo 4 bringing the Battle Rifle back, introducing unlockable abilities in progression system

Mar 5th 2012 4:49PM (Joystiq)
Please come to PC. I don't really care if it is just a plain old port of the console version, I will take it. I just want to experience Halo again. I missed out on Halo 3 and Reach simply because I didn't want to get an Xbox 360. It may be unlikely to release this for Xbox and PC but a guy can hope cant he? Maybe 343 will be different.

Payday: The Heist steals some of your time, is free this weekend

Mar 2nd 2012 10:04AM (Joystiq)
Got this game for $5 on Amazon last week. Its ok, but I am so spoiled rotten by Battlefield 3, that most other FPS games by comparison kinda suck. I know it not a war game, and BF3's budget was about $100 million more than Paydays, but it is still an FPS. It's a fun casual game, but that's all it is in my opinion. Would not pay more than $5 for it.

Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer free on Steam this weekend

Feb 16th 2012 3:11PM (Joystiq)
Started to download then I realized that playing MW3 would take away time from playing BF3. Dear MW3, I want to like you, I want to try you, but I am afraid I will have even smaller respect for you in the end, so I am just going to pass.

Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection for PC is a real thing, on Steam now

Feb 2nd 2012 4:27PM (Joystiq)
@TheHyphenator Its amazing how almost any topic, such as Mortal Kombat, can turn into a PC vs console debate. I have a desktop with slightly higher end components I use for most of my gaming. But I recently just bought a $600 laptop (because I needed a new one) that can also play any of today games, (it has an AMD APU and discrete graphics card combo) not at super high settings like my desktop, but at lower or medium settings, most games I can output @1080p via HDMI to my 47" HDTV. Even at lower settings I think the laptop is equal to or greater than a PS3 or Xbox360.

Amazon offering dramatic discounts on digital EA games starting this Sunday

Jan 12th 2012 5:02PM (Joystiq)
1/15 – Alice: Madness Returns: $7.49
1/16 – Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition + Dragon Age 2 Bundle: $11.99
1/17 – Medal of Honor - $6.99
1/18 – Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - $6.99
1/19 – Dead Space 2 - $6.99
1/20 – Bulletstorm - $6.99
1/21 – Crysis 2 - $9.99

Crysis 2 is an absolute steal for $9.99, I got C2 on launch day for full price and do not regret it one bit. BFBC2 is well worth the $6.99 price tag as well, that game still hold holds up extremely well, and the MP is awesome.

Hard Reset's launch trailer doesn't have time for this

Sep 15th 2011 9:09AM (Joystiq)
@Timerider I agree, the demo was quite fun. And great looking for an Indie game. The game is very well optimized for the PC, at least for AMD cards. I was getting 70-80+ fps with my 6950 at max settings @1920 x 1080. So I could see anyone with a 6850 and up running this game beautifully at or near max settings
