Super Meat Boy PC's first eight 'rejected' Achievements revealed

Nov 11th 2010 1:38AM (Joystiq)
@ILT2 I didn't say it was out of control. I'm saying that the 360 is completely different from the pc. They're totally different. Microsoft should regulate THEIR product, the 360, just like VALVe can regulate Steam. Without it, things WOULD run rampant. I'm not saying one company should rule over the pc like Microsoft can do with the 360, because that's what makes the pc special. In it's own way. But the 360 is nothing like the pc, and it SHOULD be regulated. Secondly, have you heard of something called... Teh Internets? It's FREE DLC for an awesome game. oh wait, that game is Super Meat Boy. Ka-Chow! :) But yeah, some things do suck on that regard. You got me, Team Fortress 2 is TONNNS better on the pc. It's disappointing to me too that Microsoft doesn't allow it to be made better. Unfortunately... Team Fortress 2 doesn't RUN on my computer, so my wonderful, for what it is, Xbox 360 can do all the handiwork for me. :) What a dear.

Super Meat Boy PC's first eight 'rejected' Achievements revealed

Nov 11th 2010 12:52AM (Joystiq)
@ILT2 first of all, Team Meat decided they wanted to lower the price of SMB to 10 bucks right when it came out, and Microsoft was just fine with it. And frankly, I don't really care about the achievements. Not something to even think about. I'm not really a 360 fanboy though... I love the pc for what my crappy laptop can handle (Minecraft doesn't even work... ha ha haaaaa :/ ) I'll be picking up SMB for the pc too for sure! But the 360 is a platform and should be regulated by Microsoft, if not, everything would run rampant.

@ILT2 what's there to justify?

@Fallow haha I doubt it will be THAT bad. Team Meat has stated that they "are avoiding any achievements that force the player to do anything negative and or repetitive." Though they still WILL be hard! :) "A few of these will be "Iron boy" runs for every chapter, achievements for completing kill screen levels and much much more!"

Super Meat Boy save fix on the way

@The angry pro consumer gaming ga Try out the trial. Its an awesome game, its gotten amazing reviews (I think its the 2nd highest rated xbox live arcade game of all time, at least currently). It's an extremely hard game, you die a LOT of times, so if you dont like a massive challenge, then it might not be for you. As Ellimen said, it has a lot of nostalgic factor to it, I'm 17 and get hardly ANY of those reference, but I still LOVE the game :)

@AntiClockClock Not a small upgrade. They have come out and said it plays NOTHING like the original flash prototype. But yeah, basic same idea.

Super Meat Boy review: Into the grinder

Oct 6th 2010 1:09PM (Joystiq)
@Chazzr obviously someone didnt read the review. 4.5/5. That means its great. duh. Did it say ANYWHERE that $15 was a hard bargain for SMB? no. Because its not. The MTV review says that "At launch there's at least 10-12 hours of content to dig through, and more is definitely on the way." That more is coming in the way of FREE level packs. They wont be charging for it. 10-12 HOURS! That's incredible for a $15 game. "It's an incredibly simple formula, but coupled with rock-solid controls, the mechanics have been boiled down to near perfection." That doesn't sound like a bad thing in the review... if the game gets boring, then the reviewer would TELL US the game got boring.

Costume Quest crusades to Xbox Live, PSN on Oct. 20 for $15

Oct 5th 2010 8:47PM (Joystiq)
@Alexisonfire yeah thanks, I'm planning on either getting this or Comic Jumper and then Super Meat Boy. What I meant is that I'm just worried that one of these games is going to steal away a lot of the people who might have boughten the other game if they weren't released same day. But that promotion certainly helps things (:
