Free Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood DLC coming Dec. 14, titled 'Animus Project Update 1.0'

Nov 24th 2010 3:09PM (Joystiq)
Oh how I miss Mont St. Michel! It was absolutely one of my favorite places in all of France that I had a chance to visit a few years ago. I can't wait to see how faithfully they reproduced this location. Time to break out the photos from my trip and get myself prepared for this DLC. :)

Hulu Plus available on PS3 without PlayStation Plus next week

Nov 4th 2010 10:59AM (Joystiq)
While this is great news, what would be even greater news is if:

1) The Hulu app was available just for the normal free content on the website.

2) They can figure out how to make the app fit my screen. It's just a little too big and the contents go past the edge just slightly. I haven't seen a way to tweak this. Is there an option for it?

3) The Hulu Plus content *minimally* matched the same content you can view via the website. For example, shows like Community and Chuck are available via the Hulu website, but are nowhere to be found via the Hulu Plus app on my PS3. I realize this isn't necessarily Sony's fault, since those shows list them as only being available via the web interface so iPhone/iPad app users also are missing out on some content via these apps. My problem is as a consumer I don't understand why they aren't available here.

Oh, and obviously there's the ongoing discussion about the depth of content on Hulu+. :)

AT&T 3G MicroCell service spotted in Chicago?

Mar 19th 2010 3:44PM (Engadget Mobile)
Hopefully they do like Google is going and offer this device to both GSM providers in the US for maximum brand exposure. It would make the most sense. And T-Mobile has been all about the Android love, so I'm sure they'd love to add another one to the list.

@Chris Ziegler, how soon is "soon" for the review? Do you have any initial impressions about the device?

AT&T 3G MicroCell service spotted in Chicago?

Mar 19th 2010 2:34PM (Engadget Mobile)
I'm more interested in the XPERIA X10 review (nice teaser there!), but I have always been intrigued by the MicroCell product, even if it a cheap way to improve AT&T's service. I can see its benefit in places like basements or other secured areas built with thick concrete walls, but you still want some coverage.

How soon will the X10 review be posted? :)

Sony Ericsson X10 unboxed by -- who else -- Sony Ericsson

Mar 10th 2010 12:18PM (Engadget Mobile)
I think it's interesting (and somewhat fair) to ridicule SE so much for their X10 release with Android 1.6. I read an interesting post over here http://www.iwantmyonepointsix.com/?p=217&cpage=1#comment-470 that gave a little light for me on the subject. If we really think about how quickly Google is pumping out releases, is it any surprise manufacturers are keeping up at the pace they are? There are new devices, like the Moto Backflip reviewed this week here, that comes with 1.6 yet I saw no scathing reviews by the editors here about its OS version. Development and testing takes time! However, some of us on the Internet seem to forget that. And there is a general distaste for all things SE. :-D

I agree with the post I linked to in that Google needs to find a way to streamline development and communication about Android releases to hardware manufacturers and the public in general.
