How about fixing the constant freezes before trying to milk the players for more money, SOE?

Alter-Ego: Five favorite Fire tank powers

Mar 26th 2011 8:27PM (Massively)
I have an Ice tank but ive been thinking about making a fire one. Tanking has always been my favorite class to play in any mmo and i love that this game has two completely different tanking styles. As an Ice Tank I survive by buffing my defense to mitigate damage while fire tanks are all about the self heals.

NYCC 2010: Our interview with FFXIV's Sage Sundi and Yasu Kurosawa

So much hate! Vigo must be loving this.

Anyways, I have to say that I'm still looking forward to playing this with PS3 launch of the game. I have to say that, in some ways, I actually like SE's attitude. They know what they want this game to be and what they don't want it to be. They're not trying to make it an amalgamation of every MMO on the market to get more subscribers. As for the UI, I can't comment, until I try to manage using it on PS3.

It's a world they created, it's their rules. Don't like it? Play something else.

Environment and customization spotlighted in new DCUO images

The emphasis on armor doesn't bug so much if we're able to hide it. Although, I've been pretty concerned about how gaudy and tacky so many of the player created heroes and villains look so far. Look at heroes like batman and superman, they're costumes are very simple but still iconic. They don't have all kinds of stuff sticking out of every part of their uniform. As long as what I've been seeing reflects player's bad taste in costumes and not a limited amount of options for character design I'm for it.

PSA: Lord of the Rings Online now free to play

This game was worth the $15 a month before it went F2P. Also, now that they're dropping the radiance system, endgame will be so much better!

LotRO's radiance to be run over by a train and other future tidbits revealed

That bit of info just got a re-sub out of me. I've hated the radiance system. Time to dust off my 65 LM.

The Daily Grind: What unique class is your favorite?

Sep 4th 2010 12:01PM (Massively)
LOTRO's Loremaster had to be the single most unique class I've ever played in an MMO.

They'd have so much to do in a group. Keeping the healers stocked with power, debuffing mobs, crowd control, and their dps isn't bad at all either. Also, their Hawks are my favorite pet of any game. A good loremaster would have a ton of things to do in a group and would look like a spastic child in a candy store when things got thick.

Definitely my favorite class.

FFXI's Red Mage gets an honorable mention too.

Trailer for Scars of Abyssea surfaces for Final Fantasy XI

Haha. Guess my comment did come off as negative sounding. I wasn't complaining. Yes, it's a grind but I trio with my buddies and we still have fun, otherwise I wouldn't be sub'd to it. I enjoy MMO's that require teamwork. I just meant that even though it's somewhat easier to solo more content the game will always be group centric.

Still grindy even with fields of valor and it'll always be group centric.

Lord of the Rings: War in the North trailer displays orcish brutality

Aug 14th 2010 9:02PM (Joystiq)
WTF is with the magic being tossed around all willy-nilly-like. that isn't LOTR. There's only supposed to be five wizards in that world and that guy wasn't one of them.
