DC Universe Online screens give us a brush with Bats
Aug 30th 2010 5:32AM (Joystiq)Listen, who cares about graphics? MMO's take a TON OF RAM to run smoothly and if you try to cram a ton of graphics/textures into it, the framerate will drop to nothing. I mean seriously, when you think about it, aren't the smoothest running games always the most fun? The first thing I thought about Shank when I played it the other day was "Wow, the fps is great!"
Same thing with Red Faction Guerilla, and yes, even Call of Duty. But why do these games have good framerates? Because they put their time in the things that count rather than wasting an insane amount of time on textures.
I'll take gameplay smoothness over graphical resolution (and bells and whistles) anyday.
