Dead Rising 2's Keiji Inafune and his desire to 'replace the Resident Evil franchise'
Sep 7th 2010 3:48PM (Joystiq)I know I am in the minority with this, but I like Dead Rising's timed/save system.
Sure it would be a blast to just mess around endlessly. Infinity mode offered something close to that, but yes, not exactly the same as just free roam. But again, I liked how that was handled as well.
It gives you a greater sense of fear and anxiety while playing. Something that should be there while playing one against thousands of zombies trying to murder you. It is a more realistic situation. You have to survive AND make meet the requirements for extraction. This means that you can't have it all. You have to make sacrificing choices. Save this survivor or go get health or weapons for your own self. Try to take out a few more psycho paths, pr make it to the helicopter in time.
I had a similar experience just last night with Case Zero. I started a game trying to clean up the last of the achievements I needed. I think it was spend $100,000 and save all survivors. As I was doing all that, I had about an hour to get the last two bike parts. I had already got the "A" ending and the achievement, but I thought it would be fun to try to get it all done again. I flying around the town trying desperately to get what I needed and just as I was bring the last bike part to the door, the military beat me to it. It was disappointing, but fun none the less because I couldn't mess around. Every little setback or zombie battle was exhilarating.

Sep 1st 2010 4:32AM (Joystiq)I never said that anyone should trash a perfectly good sdtv? There are plenty of things you could do with it. Put it in your children's room, donate it to charity, sell it, even at a small price, towards the cost of a new one.
And of course, just because you don't know any one who doesn't have both, doesn't make it so either way. As in, I honestly can not think of anyone who still has an SDTV out of my friend/family circle. Maybe my girlfriends parents? Who cares? What does that mean? And what does it have to do with this? Are you saying that if you had an HDTV you would still do your PS3/360 HD gaming on your SDTV?
I'm not with you on the bigger font either. Get a bigger TV. Sorry to be gruff here, but why should the industry revolve around YOU, the one who chose not to buy a bigger TV. Do you want subtitle movie fonts to be bigger as well?

Sep 1st 2010 12:32AM (Joystiq)There probably isn't a huge noticeable difference at that point. But I can definitely tell the difference between 480p and 1080p.

Sep 1st 2010 12:30AM (Joystiq)I have no idea why you are getting downvoted, PN04. Bunch of HD hating haters.
I am sure some people are still selling them, but you are correct in saying that it getting increasingly rare.
Look at Best Buy's website TV section. Not one offered.
