Jun 6th 2011 2:45PM (Joystiq)The key phase was that Microsoft was working with existing content providers, and then talked about previous relationships they had such as Sky. There are about 5 Mediaroom IPTV providers in the US, the biggest being at&t U-verse.
With the current implementation an Xbox 360 can act as a set-top box for one of these IPTV providers through launching an application from the dashboard. This new version of Mediaroom seems to have a completely live integration from with the new fall dashboard.

Jan 8th 2010 11:23PM (Joystiq)Not being able to record on the Xbox also isn't a big deal, Currently the service comes with a 320GB HD for the DVR, and with the efficent codecs that at&t uses, is plenty enough for hundreds of hours of recorded programs.
