Somone on CAG speculated that these systems were probably warranty replacement inventory for RROD system through the 3-year extended warranty program (which has recently expired). By that logic these systems would not be subject to a RROD issue.

As long as you don't need a X360 with an HDMI port, this should be a safe buy...

I believe that the WiiU is capable of supporting GameCube games, but the WiiU doesn't have the GameCube controller ports so that would make it impraticle to play them otherwise...

I don't believe this is a brand new service, basically all this is a Kinect enabled version of the Mediaroom IPTV platform. This has been reported a few months back that it was in development.

The key phase was that Microsoft was working with existing content providers, and then talked about previous relationships they had such as Sky. There are about 5 Mediaroom IPTV providers in the US, the biggest being at&t U-verse.

With the current implementation an Xbox 360 can act as a set-top box for one of these IPTV providers through launching an application from the dashboard. This new version of Mediaroom seems to have a completely live integration from with the new fall dashboard.

The regular version is enabled through an update, but the Move Version/Director's Cut had it built-in...

Sony's blog post originally posted an image of Heavy Rain "Director's Cut" as the the GH version, presumably the US version of the European "Move Edition" (Built in Move support, and DLC included). But now apparently the GH version will now be the same product that is being sold now. This is disappointing.

It will be interesting if at&t will still charge to use your own Xbox. AFAIK the cable company doen't charge you to access their services if you use your own equipment.

IPTV doesn't use "tuners" it uses dedicated video streams. In case of U-verse, this system allows for 4 independent streams of which 2 can be in HD. In other words each house can watch or record 4 different channels at the same time, if you want to watch HD content only 2 channels can be in HD. If you live in a household that has a lot of people, Uverse might not be right for you.

Mediaroom 2.0 allows the Xbox 360 to act as a Uverse set top box replacement that can control and record content to the Uverse household DVR.

This isn't surprising to me. I have U-verse, and I hope this new Xbox feature will lower my bill. I currently pay $7/month per TV this service is on, and it really adds up.

Not being able to record on the Xbox also isn't a big deal, Currently the service comes with a 320GB HD for the DVR, and with the efficent codecs that at&t uses, is plenty enough for hundreds of hours of recorded programs.

Display them on the wall like trophies.
